Title (I) Teachings of Leviticus (Leviticus 1:1~13)

Contents

① Genesis is a book of beginnings, Exodus is a book of atonement, Leviticus is a book of worship, Numbers is a book of service, and Deuteronomy is a book of obedience. ② The sanctification of the body and the building of the temple of the saints who have been regenerated by the Lord's redemption begin with worship (sacrificing) to God. ③ The central idea of Leviticus is to teach how to live as a holy people who sacrifice to God (communion with God). ④ The “subject” of this book is holy, but if you first become holy, you will become a source of blessing and salvation for all people.

"first. Holiness was revealed through the system of sacrifices.”

①Through the sacrifice, the elect learned three things. ②"Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins" (Hebrews 9:22) ③God is holy ④The sins committed against God are not small, and the recognition of sins comes from the law. ⑤ The blood of redemption is the foundation and source of all holiness and holiness.

"second. Holiness was revealed through the law.”

The chosen people were taught through the law that the standard of perfection was “the absolute holiness of God alone.” Through this law, it is taught what kind of holiness this holiness is.

"third. Holiness was revealed through the severe punishment of the law.”

① Many people think that this punishment is too severe. But we must recognize that God has absolute principles governing man, which no human government possesses. ② Also, through the terrible punishment of a certain law, the chosen people learned two things. It is that "God never tolerates sin and impurity" and "If anyone despises God, he has no hope of escape from sinning and punishment."

"fourth. Another purpose of the law is to reveal that God is merciful, gracious, and merciful (Ex. 34:6), and to reveal forgiveness of those who repent if there is shedding of blood.”

①Leviticus 4:15 “they will slaughter the bull” and 4:20 “they will be forgiven” support this. ②This law reveals to the spiritual and thoughtful elect that it is impossible to imagine where God seeks such blood, but that the blood of Jesus, the “Lamb,” which is better than the blood of bulls or goats, deserves.

"fifth. Therefore this law fully prepared the elect to receive the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).”

“Sixth. This law also prepared the reception of a high priest higher than Aaron.”

“Seventh. This law was in many ways a prophecy and a foreshadowing of the Lord Jesus, and a foreshadowing of the redemption he brought.”

He (1) “Moses wrote of me” (John 5:26) ② He began with Moses and gave details of his jurisdiction (Luke 24:27) ③ I spoke to you while I was with you, the law of Moses, All things that were written about me in the prophets’ writings and psalms must be fulfilled (44), and the writer of Hebrews also said that ④ “the Levitical priests serving in the tent of meeting served a pattern in heaven,” and it is also ⑤ a type of heaven. It is said that the blood that has been purified is a better example of a sacrifice than these. ⑥ This refers to the sacrifice of Christ that took away sins through his own sacrifice. (Hebrews 9:23-26, 12-21) Hebrews teaches that the holy period of the law and the feast of Sabbath were shadows of things to come.
