Bible: 1 Corinthians 2:12-13
Title: Teachings of the Holy Spirit
.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13 ‘12. We received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God, that we might know the things that God has given us by grace. with spiritual things, and spiritual things are discerned.' - Amen.
.
In verse 13 of the text, the expression “only the Holy Spirit taught” appears.
The Christian faith is based on the truth of the Bible, which is impossible without the understanding and inspiration of the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). It is the same with receiving salvation, and our daily life cannot be a witness without the influence of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit must work to show the truth of the gospel to unbelievers in their lives.
.
1. The Spirit of the World and the Spirit of God
God breathed into the man's nostrils made of clay and he became a man (Genesis 2:7). The subject by which man thinks and acts is the soul. Originally, man was supposed to live with God-given man's holy thoughts and God-like power, but because of sin, that is, under the influence of Satan, he sinned and sinful thoughts filled the world (Genesis 3: Ephesians 2:2,). .
.
① It is the Spirit of God that we received through faith in Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:12 “We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God..”
②The world is still under the control of an evil spirit, and the Bible calls the spirit that leads this world into darkness, evil, and death, John 12:31 ‘.. the ruler of this world..’ (John 14:30).
.
Or the dragon, the devil and Satan (Revelation 20:2), the one who deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9), the one who holds the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2), the god of the world (god, 2 Corinthians 4:4), the king of demons (Matthew 9:34), the head of the devil (Mark 3:22), the evil one (Ephesians 6:16), the murderer (John 8:44), the enemy (Matthew 13:39), the adversary (1 Peter 5:8) ,The ruler of the world (Hebrews 12:14), the tempter (Matthew 4:3), the lying spirit (1 Kings 22:22-23, John 8:44), the spirit of delusion (1 John 4:6), the deceitful It is expressed as a person (Rev 12:9), a person who accuses (accuser) (Rev 12:10), etc.
.
These other expressions of Satan mean that he deceives the world with such a nature.
Man is destined to live under the spiritual influence of either the inspiration of God or the spirit of the devil who continues to work in man.
.
2. We must discern under the light of the Holy Spirit
.
Living by believing in Jesus is not common sense in religious culture. Even if you think like that and go to church, you must experience the Holy Spirit when the time comes. Text 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 ‘12. ...so that we may know the things that have been given to us by grace 13. ...but spiritual things are discerned by the Spiritual things'.
.
To receive salvation by believing in Jesus is to be believed only when the Holy Spirit works when you believe in God's covenant, and that faith does not change forever. Because people say they believe in religion, they become people who believe in it and not believe it.
Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
.
Now, after becoming a saint, you must accomplish the work of the Holy Spirit. That is the witnessed life. The disciples learned well for three years and after Jesus ascended to heaven, they prayed fervently in Mark's upper room for 10 days.
.
Without the light of the Holy Spirit, the wisdom and discernment of the Holy Spirit, if you lack prayer and spiritual wisdom, whether in church work or in your daily life, you may lack the grace to show as a believer, and it may be difficult. Romans 8:7 “The mind set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it do so.”
.
Today, people misunderstand that they have good faith because they build chapels, have more theology, and have more knowledge than in the past, but if you look closely, the Holy Spirit is not working, but most of them are full of humanistic ideas.
.
That was the case with the Jews. They were judged by the Lord as hypocrites, but they did not see it that way. A person should be able to receive advice painfully and repent, but he fails to listen lightly. The big problem today is that we don't listen when we teach that sin is a sin. Let us pray earnestly to receive the illumination and wisdom of the Holy Spirit and become discerning saints.
