1. Philadelphia Church
The Philadelphia Church, along with the Church of Smyrna, is a beautiful church that received only praise without any rebuke among the seven churches.
*It has a short history and the church looked weak on the outside, but it was praised for its quality.
*Philadelphia worshiped the god of wine or many other gods, so it was called "Little Aden". Now it remains as a town in Turkey under the name of Allah Shehr (Allah Shehr).
2. The appearance of the Lord in this church
① Holy Lord - As a Lamb without blemish and without spot, only He is the sacrifice for our ransom.
② The true Lord - Only the Lord is the faithful and honest Lord. In a world where lies prevail, believers must imitate the true image of the Lord.
③ The one who has the key of David - The key symbolizes sovereignty. The Lord must also open the gates of heaven.
3. The Lord's Praise for the Philadelphia Church
In verse 8, the Lord said, "I know your works."
Then why did the church in Philadelphia get praised?
① It was said, “You have little power, yet you keep my word.”
The Philadelphia church was not a powerful church. It's great that we have so many abilities. However, you cannot be praised before the Lord with only such things.
② The church in Philadelphia was praised for “not betraying my name”.
③ The Philadelphia church had an open door as it was said, “I have put an open door in front of you.”
God has opened doors to the saints. Anyone seek, seek, and knock.
4. The Lord's Counsel
“I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have and let no one take your crown.” Dear saints! I hope you will keep the grace you have received from God.
5. The Lord's Promise
The Lord has promised the Philadelphia church three blessings.
① It means that the time of the test will be spared.
Verse 10 says, “Because you have kept the word of my patience, I will also keep you from the hour of temptation.”
② In verse 12, it says, “I will make them a pillar in the temple of God.”
A believer should be a person who acts like a pillar wherever he goes.
Joseph was used as a pillar wherever he went.
③ Looking at verse 12, it says that the name of God, the name of the New Jerusalem, and the new name of the Lord will be written on it. “I will write on him the name of God, and the name of God’s city, the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.”
conclude the word.
The Philadelphia church was a church that heard and obeyed God's word with little power in the presence of the Lord. So it was a beautiful church that received only praise instead of rebuke.
I bless you in the name of the Lord that your whole life will be praised only by listening to the word of the Lord and obeying it!
