Title: Ten Thousand Talents and One Hundred Denarii
Contents
First, compare the value of one talent to one denarius. According to the dictionary, (a talent is equivalent to about 6,000 denarii. At that time, one denarii was equivalent to a worker's daily wage). Then, ten thousand talents is equivalent to 600,000 times one hundred denarii.
Therefore, ten thousand talents, which is 600,000 times one hundred denarii, is six times six times one hundred denarii. This represents the best number in the world. There is something that needs to be pointed out briefly here. In the world revealed in the Bible, the number of men is 6 and the number of God is 7. This is because the seventh day is God's day. (Though it is gone in Christ) Therefore, the number of the king of this world, the beast, is 666. As it is written, “Here is wisdom; let him who has understanding count the number of the beast, for its number is the number of a man, six hundred and sixty-six” (Revelation 13:18).
In the Old Testament, "King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and he set it up on the plain of Dura, in the city of Babylon" (Daniel 3:1). In the world of Jesus Christ, the descendant of David, it is not 66, but 666 including the number of spirits, because it is the age of the Holy Spirit dealing with the evil spirits that have taken the power of the air.
Let's take a look at the record of God's number 7 as well. "Then Peter came up to him and said, "Lord, if my brother sins against me, how many times shall I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times. You must do it seven times” (Matthew 18:21-22), expressing the infinite love of God with 777.
777 is greater than 666. So 777 always beats 666. Lord! Thank you.
Now, leaving aside the numbers, I would like to reveal the gospel, the mystery of faith, which our Lord Jesus Christ spoke of in the parable of ten thousand talents and one hundred denarii, which is grace and truth, guided by the Spirit of truth.
It is written, "When he was accounting, he brought in a man who owed ten thousand talents, and he had nothing to repay. So the master commanded that he sell his body, his wife, his children, and all that he had, and all that he had to pay it off." So the servant fell down and bowed down and said, "Be patient with me, and I will pay it all." The servant's master, having compassion on him, let him go and forgave him the debt. Then the servant went out and found a copper coffin who owed me a hundred denarii, and grabbed him by the neck, and said, "Pay the debt." The man fell on his face and begged, saying, "Have patience with me, and I will pay it back." He did not give his permission, but went and locked him in prison to pay off his debt. When the officers saw it, they were very upset and went to the master and told him the whole thing. But shouldn't you have pity on your brother-in-law just as I have compassion on you?" The master got angry and gave him to the prisoners so that he could repay the debt. He will do this to you” (Matthew 18:24-38), so ten thousand talents are a blessing to all people under the world.
Now, the question is not whether ten thousand talents were forgiven, but whether or not the debtor who owed me a hundred denarii would be forgiven. If the one hundred denarii is not resolved, the indemnity of ten thousand talents is just like a probation, and you will be thrown into the second death, the eternal lake of fire.
“Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:12). Ten thousand talents are released together when one hundred denarii are released. As it is written, “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18).
God loved all people under the world, and the reason that He accomplished eternal redemption with His Son's blood was so that those who received atonement would follow His image and obtain many sons of love like His Son. This is a fact that can never be accomplished unless I die and Christ lives in me.
Therefore, the Lord Jesus Himself commands, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another, and that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). It is absolutely impossible to have the love he loved us without having the heart of Christ.
He also said, “For those who show no mercy there will be judgments without mercy, for mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13) and “Pursue peace with all and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” ’ (Hebrews 12:14).
Now everyone who has been born of God through Christ can take on the image of the Son and have the same love he loved even those who crucified him. For it is Christ who lives in me. To God the Father who made this happen and gave the Holy Spirit as a guarantee, through Jesus Christ be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
