Title: Give Thanks Completely Bible: Deuteronomy 16:13-17
Among the three great feasts of Israel, the Passover is to give thanks for salvation in Egypt, the Feast of Harvest is to give thanks for the protection and guidance of the Holy Spirit in the wilderness, and the Feast of Ingathering is a season to give thanks for having obtained an inheritance in the land of Canaan.
incomplete faith
Believers often deceive themselves by using the Bible verses as a tool for self-rationalization by understanding or misinterpreting the Bible in a self-centered way. Satan's characteristic is that he knows and believes the Bible as the Word of God, but uses it as a tool for his own rationalization. The Bible that Satan quoted while tempting Jesus was interpreted for self-justification.
“Do not look at his appearance or height, for I have abandoned him; I do not look like men; man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).
When they come out to worship, they say that you can worship without paying attention to the clothes at all, but there are cases where they come out without sincerity in their attire during the worship service and go to the wedding in formal clothes.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all that is in it, and the world and all that dwell in it” (Psalm 24:1).
This verse is also misinterpreted, and since everything belongs to God, I think it is not necessary to give thanks from the heart and not give thanks to God with material things.
“You do not delight in sacrifice; otherwise I would have offered it. You are not pleased with sacrifice. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit” (Psalm 51:16-17).
I misunderstood this verse as well, saying that God is not pleased with worship.
Full Sacrifice and Gratitude
The blessings and graces that God bestows on each person are different in their amount and in different ways. Gratitude commands each person to give thanks according to the blessings bestowed upon them.
The etymology of the word offering of thanks contains the meaning of “sacrifice.” The gift that the saints give thanks before God is different from the nature of donations that are usually made for good works in society. Because we have received forgiveness of sins and justification by being sacrificed for God's sake, the offerings that the saints give thanks to God have the characteristics of bleeding and death just like the sacrifices. Baking a bottle of bread for the prophet Elijah was a sacrifice, and the widow's durep don was given with all her life and with all her might.
God did not let the victims of such faith run out of food even in times of famine. The gift of thanks must contain the spirit of the sacrifice (redemption) of Jesus Christ. What is sacrifice? It means your own death. A gift is sacrificing something you cherish and cherish.
Giving thanks to God is practicing sharing of thanks with children, slaves, Levites, orphans, widows, and strangers. The Feast of Tabernacles begins with the sacrifice of the Passover lamb, confesses the existence of those who have been saved as a gift of thanks, gives thanks through life, and practices sharing to rejoice and enjoy the grace of life that God bestows on us.
Prayer: Lord! Allow me to offer sacrifices of thanks before God. Amen.
