Title: Thanksgiving Every Day

Now is the season of fruition. The ideal temperature in September, which was so hot, has also been dampened by yesterday's rain, and it looks like we are now entering autumn. Our church does not observe Thanksgiving in the United States, but observes today, the Sunday following Chuseok in Korea, as Thanksgiving Day. We are celebrating Thanksgiving in the city. That's why we don't harvest. It is because we do not lead a rural life of plowing, farming, and picking fruits. However, whenever we approach the Chuseok holiday, which is celebrated in gratitude for the harvest, we give thanks to the providence of nature and to God who enriches nature. Living in the artificial civilization of the city, we live an artificial life rather than the direct influence of nature in the material civilization created by humans. you will realize I see thanksgiving as a natural restoration of materialism. I think thanksgiving means proclaiming and celebrating God and his dominion over Mother Nature, not mammon.

I believe that the message given to us through today's text given for Thanksgiving Day is a message that we should live serving God in this nature, not serving mammon in this material civilization. Although we live in a city, we do not live in the material, artificial, and human life provided by human civilization, but in this God-given Mother Nature, conforming to the flow of Mother Nature, and living a natural and ecological life, serving God and I can tell you that I live.

I have recently had a small experience, but it is an important experience for me. When I go to work, I don't ride a car, I ride a bike, get on the train, get off the train and walk for about 10 minutes. So I drive a BMW these days. It is an abbreviation for Bike, Metro, and Walk. Most BMW's B stands for Bus, but to me it's Bike. But I do experience the amazing thing with this bike. Today, bicycles are becoming a top-of-the-line necessity. In fact, more developed countries use bicycles. There are many times when it is embarrassing to drive a car. Cycling is good for your health and goes fast. Fortunately, there is Anyangcheon Stream close to my house, so it is advantageous because the bike paths are well-maintained, but these bike paths are well connected by train, making it very easy to ride a BMW. So I'm determined to ride a BMW rather than a Hyundai. In the era of high oil prices, we are reaping the fruits of health, eco-friendliness, and saving three trillion won.

Recently, I would like to ask if all of these New Right people glorify the Park Chung-hee dictatorship and belittle those who fought for independence during the Japanese colonial era stem from developmentalistic materialism. In other words, I am concerned that the idea that dictatorship is good, imprisoned and executed people, and corruption due to concentration of power is good, and that economic development should be tolerated and praised is derived from economic omnipotence and mammonism. But a life that is overly dependent on wealth is ruining us. We can see this phenomenon now.

Regarding life beyond mammon, Jesus spoke of flying birds as an example. Birds have the best ability to survive among animals. Flying birds, in particular, are better able to survive than poor-flying birds or other land animals. Birds are the best surviving animals in evolutionary history. Humans, of course, lack the ability to survive in nature than birds. Humans cannot survive unless they sow and reap. This is because there are not enough things that can be eaten by humans in nature. Humans must work hard to grow crops and fruits and harvest them to survive. In fact, birds also work hard in search of food. This is the work of birds. Birds work hard. It's just that it doesn't have a barn.

I want to tell you that there is truth to the saying that birds do not gather food in barns. Birds work hard, but do not accumulate food in barns. So the birds have nothing to eat during the winter, so they search for food in the snow. During the winter, there are times when they starve because they have nothing to eat, but the birds live without worries. There is something we need to learn from this natural law. We humans cannot live like birds, and that's why we store food and save money for winter food. It is natural for humans to prepare for such a season when food is not available. But today's saying is that humans should be able to learn from birds, which is the fact that birds work hard day to day for food, but they don't have a barn. It means that we too should work hard day by day and not have a barn. It is said that humans cannot avoid having a barn at all, but it is important not to be concerned about how much food is left in the barn.

I saw the words of the wise man who wrote Ecclesiastes very close to today's message. In Ecclesiastes 3:12-13, the writer advises to live life as follows: ?n the end, I realized that the only good thing is to live well and enjoy while you are alive. People will eat and drink and have fun with the reward of their hard work. This is the gift of God.??If we think about this in connection with today's Word, it would mean that people should live happily and enjoy themselves even if they produce little things. If we rejoice and rejoice in our daily produce and produce, every day can be a thanksgiving for us.

Again, the words of Jesus. Following today's text, Jesus said:

?o I say clearly. Do not worry about what you will eat and drink to survive, or what you will wear on your body.???ho among you can live an hour more by worrying????ven Solomon, who enjoyed all his glory, could not dress as splendidly as a single wild flower.???herefore, do not worry about what you will eat, what you will drink, or what you will wear.???ut seek first the kingdom of God and what God justifies. Then you will receive all of this.??

In summary, today's message is that each of us is a noble being. Therefore, we should not worry that we are short of wealth or that we do not have it. Each of us is truly precious, regardless of whether we have wealth or not, and therefore, the most precious thing is to live for the value we believe and cherish. is the original meaning of And the message of Thanksgiving is that we must not forget that we are harvesting and producing in God's eyes, even if we have not been harvesting properly. After all, Thanksgiving means not to worry, but to live joyfully. We earnestly hope that every day of our lives will be like this Thanksgiving.
