Title: Thanksgiving in All Things (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

No one is unaware of the tortoise belonging to the reptile family. However, not many people know turtles well. Turtles aren't as smart as other animals. Its body is surrounded by a hard shell, so it has a strange appearance. If you look at the internal organs, there is no diaphragm, and the heart has three chambers instead of four like other animals. Not only does it act frustratingly slow, it eats slowly and its metabolic activity is five times slower than that of other animals. However, it is one of the oldest reptiles. Turtles live longer than other animals.
Why? This is because turtles are cold-blooded animals, whose body temperature rises when the outside temperature rises and decreases when the outside temperature decreases. Turtles do not go against their surroundings and actively adapt and live. Despite the poor quality of internal organs, sloppy appearance, and slow behavior, it shows that it is best to overcome shortcomings with effort rather than natural perfection to live longer than other animals. In addition, unlike other animals, holy animals grow throughout their lives, suggesting that they need constant self-improvement. Living like this is the secret to longevity.
Maybe a turtle is this? And if I had told him to be upset, he would have died first.
Where would life be without thorns? The thorns such as lack, lack and weakness are rather humane and become a channel of blessing that allows us to depend on God and live by faith. Therefore, we must live in gratitude for our shortcomings, shortcomings, and even our weaknesses.
"Understanding" is to be grateful for everything. In other words, it is all-weather auditing. "All-weather thanksgiving." Today's text tells us that this is God's will for us in Jesus Christ. The thanksgiving of the saints is to give thanks only under good conditions and not only when it is good, but to be thankful for everything.

Life is never all about success. Perhaps more failures are possible in life. Those who achieved even a small success did not view failure as a failure, but as an opportunity to learn how not to succeed, saying, “If you do this, you will inevitably fail.” So, in the end, it paved the way to success. Therefore, being able to give thanks not only when a desired task has been accomplished, but also when a desired task has not been achieved, is the key to becoming an all-weather gratitude.
Gratitude for everything is to give thanks not only in times of peace but also in times of trouble.
When there is peace, everyone will have something to be thankful for. However, the life of faith does not only promise us peace. He said that if we have received grace, we must also suffer suffering. Therefore, if you are a believer who is living a healthy life of faith, you must be able to give thanks even in the midst of hardship.
Gratitude in everything is not only when we are healthy, but also when we are sick.
Even those whom God loves can get sick. Sickness does not necessarily come from the wrath of God. We need to get rid of that guilt. Life is meant to be sick. Life and old soldiers is a law established by God. Therefore, we should be able to give thanks not only when we are healthy but also when we are sick.
Someone was sentenced to life in a hospital with a three-month life span. "You only live three months."
But this man was thankful that he could live three more months. Everything will happen in three months. How grateful are you for giving me those three months?
In one minute, our brain sends and receives 6 trillion commands, and the body sheds 30,000 to 40,000 dead cells in one minute, a person breathes 15 times in one minute, and closes his eyes an average of 10 times in one minute. It blinks, and in one minute, the vocal cords vibrate 10,000 times while speaking. It doesn't seem like a single minute is a short period of time that so many things can happen in one minute that passes in an instant.
This patient lived happily for 3 months and was grateful. However, after 3 months, I lived even after 6 months. So when I went to the hospital, the cancer mass was gone.
Gratitude for everything is to give thanks not only for my prayers to be answered quickly, but also for my prayers to be answered slowly. We are people who believe in God's final and total providence. Even if our prayers are answered quickly, there is God's will, and even if our prayers are not answered slowly, we believe that God's will is there. Therefore, we should be able to give thanks regardless of the answers to our prayers.
General gratitude is gratitude for ordinary things.
It is the spirit of gratitude for today's Thanksgiving Day to practice gratitude as a common annual event during the returning season. You should be able to appreciate the little, ordinary, everyday things. Some people say, "Well, I want to be grateful, but I don't have much to be grateful for." But what is special gratitude? Isn't that the gratitude that comes from the separation of events? So, how much heartbreak must we have before a special event turns into a condition of gratitude?
Universal gratitude starts with thoughts.
In the words of Proverbs, it is said, "As a man thinks, so is his great man."
Thoughts control emotions and behavior. If your thoughts are sick and bad, your emotions and actions are sick and bad. However, if your thoughts are healthy and good, your emotions and actions are also healthy and good. According to the Bible, Joseph was a healthy and good man. So no matter what happened, the emotions and actions were beautiful. When he was hated by his brothers, when he was sold to Egypt, when he met temptation, when he suffered vaguely and went to prison, he always had a good mind, so bad feelings or bad actions did not come out.
If Joseph had a grudge against his brothers, drew pictures of them, shot them, made a doll with a grudge against Potiphar's wife who had thrown him into a trap, stabbed him day and night, and promised to remember him, but he was reinstated and had a good job If he had been chanting a curse on a ruler who did not remember even after returning to , his anger would not have disappeared from his heart, and he would have died from a vase.
Vanuatu, an island country with most of the islands without electricity, is proudly ranked first in the happiness index of 178 countries in the world surveyed by the British New Economic Foundation in 2007, and is called the island country full of the happiest people in the world. However, most of the developed countries where they live the best and have no inconvenience are all far behind. And above all, Korea, which is economically ranked in the 11th and 2nd, does not have a high happiness index according to any survey. It is reported that Korea ranks 102nd out of 178 countries in the ranking of happiness, and unfortunately, in a recent survey, the happiness index of Korean adolescents was also announced that it was the lowest among OECD countries.
When we look at the factors of happiness, we realize that happiness does not depend on circumstances, but on our thoughts. There are no standards for happiness. There are no formulas, no textbooks or reference books. Depending on what your heart thinks, you can be happy or unhappy. How happy a person is depends on the depth of his gratitude.
Happiness is not being concerned with what you don't have, but being content with what you have. Those who value and appreciate what they have will lead a happy life. A happy life can only be achieved when we change into gratitude and contentment for what we have instead of complaining and resentment about what we do not have.
Ephesians 5:4 says, "There is no need for slander, foolish speech, or slander, but rather, give thanks." And Mal 2:17 says, "You have afflicted the LORD with your words, and you say, How have we tormented the LORD? For you say, "Everyone who does evil is good in the eyes of the LORD, and it is a pleasure to him." They say, “Where is the God of justice?” You must not afflict God with your words. The less complaining, the better, and the more gratitude, the better. (Psalm 37:7-8; Ephesians 5:4)
There are things that I desperately feel as I go through the ministry and as I get older and pass the years. It is my belief that not only things have luxury, but life also has luxury. I think that there is also the luxury of faith, which is achieved by walking with the Lord throughout the life of a person's dignity, especially. Gratitude for all things is a characteristic of ordinary believers.
