“God, I thank you for the talents I have gained from being blind.
Please allow me to invest that talent so that when the Lord comes, I can also charge a high interest rate on my possessions.”
Dear saints,
It's Thanksgiving Day 2010. I hope it will be a time to give thanks to God for keeping us through the year. Thanksgiving is celebrated by churches and believers in the United States and Western Europe.
bless you You were born to be loved. You were born to be blessed.
Today, I hope that it will be a good time of grace to recover thanks while meditating on how we will greet this season of thanksgiving today.
First, let's take a look at the origin of Thanksgiving, which is observed by many Christians on this earth.
Some may say that this is not biblical if I explain it this way, but today's title is 'Thanksgiving Day of Restoring Gratitude'. I pray that you will have faith to restore gratitude during this time.
The beginning of Thanksgiving in the Bible (Genesis 4:3-4 begins with the sacrifices of Cain and Abel), but more specifically, the Jewish Thanksgiving Day (from Leviticus 23:9-14 the Feast of Tabernacles). It is thanks to the Puritans who immigrated to the United States from England that the feast of thanksgiving took on its present form.
102 Puritans, who lived in pursuit of godliness, escaped persecution from England in 1620 and boarded the Mayflower, leaving without a destination. After 60 days of voyage, they landed in the new continent 'Prylmouth Port' on November 20 of that year. I did. Food was scarce and the weather was cold, so many people died, but those who survived were able to plant and reap crops the following year with the help of Indians.
At one time, despite the dangers of the Indians, they pioneered a wasteland, farmed, built a chapel for worship, built a school for children to study, built a house for them to live in, and worked so hard to get a harvest in the fall. Realizing that it was the help and blessing of God, we started having a festival to thank God for His grace.
So how grateful are the Indians? So, thanks to the Indians, giving thanks to God first, and sharing food for the grains, vegetables, fruits and other agricultural products harvested by inviting Indians.
To commemorate this day, Washington, the first president of the United States, celebrated the 1789 Constitution and declared November 26th as Thanksgiving Day.
However, after that, the third president, Jefferson, abolished this because it was a British custom, and then President Lincoln officially announced the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day for an early end to the Civil War and for national unity.
After that, President Roosevelt changed Thanksgiving Day to the third Thursday of November 1939.
However, on the other hand, the Korean church observed Thanksgiving Day in 1904, 10 years after the Presbyterian meeting declared November 10 as the day of thanksgiving, and in 1914, each denomination observed the third Wednesday of November, the date of entry for American missionaries, as Thanksgiving Day. After that, it changed from Wednesday to Sunday.
Although our country is relatively simple, it is celebrated as the biggest festival of the year in the United States.
But strictly speaking, it is true that Thanksgiving is biblical or not.
But the more you give thanks, the more you give thanks. The origins of Thanksgiving began roughly this way.
Dear saints,
Complaining and dissatisfaction are the ingredients of unhappiness, but gratitude is the ingredient of blessings and happiness.
Therefore, it can be said that Thanksgiving originated in the United States in a way. In any case, it is true that the more gratitude overflows, the more beautiful and good it is.
Wherever we started, we should be thankful because God has given us everything.
Gratitude is a sign of our heart's response to God for His grace. As the season is the season, the weather is getting colder. No matter how cold the weather, being grateful will make you warm.
Dear saints,
Our human memory decreases with age. A scientist named Ebbinghaus said that he studied how humans remember. After about 20 minutes of looking at something, 46% is lost, after 1 hour, 55.8%,
They found that they lost 66.3% after 24 hours, 72.2% after 48 hours, and 78.9% after one month. The same is true of God's grace.
We are living with a lot of grace, but as time goes by, we lose more and more.
What do people do to remember important days? We celebrate the day to remember the wedding ring, engagement ring, wedding day, and birthday.
Yes. God also created festivals to commemorate the day of a special relationship with humans.
