Title - The attitude to bear fruit
The Bible Sunday is a season for reawakening the essence of the Bible, a revelation directly inspired by God, in order to become the only standard of faith and life of the saints, and to renew the understanding and attitude of the saints.
The English word “Bible” is derived from the Greek word “biblo”, meaning “book,” and in later times it came to refer specifically to the canon of the church. The word is borrowed from papyrus, an ancient paper made from growing reeds, and the word came to be used to refer to the Bible because in ancient times God's word was written on papyrus, but the meaning of the Bible Sunday included in the feast of Advent. A word that reveals more clearly is the Greek word 'lovgo', which means 'word'. The Bible expresses Jesus as the 'Word' in the sense that the Lord is both the giver of revelation and the core content of the revelation of the Bible (John 1:14). It is the meaning of the awakening of Christ as both the substance and the core, and the Bible Sunday was instituted and commemorated within the Feast of Advent to commemorate the coming of the Lord.
The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments were written by about 40 different authors over a period of about 1500 years. Also, in the content, each records the history of different times or discusses the doctrines of different subjects. Its scope is also very broad and profound. Also, although the literary composition, content, and form are varied, their fundamental theme and purpose are all our salvation through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, the Bible is a book that shows the various aspects and history of the same subject as far as the redemptive work of Jesus is concerned. With this, the Bible achieves perfect harmony and unity not only in the entire system of vast doctrines, but also in the tense and punctuation of the original language, while having both diversity and unity. What shows salvation is, after all, that the Bible is not a human work, but a divinely inspired revelation that we can absolutely trust.
On the other hand, there is a saying that 'Christianity is the religion of books'. This is not to say that Christianity is not something that involves human will and knowledge, which is always subject to change and error, but is an inspired revelation of God in its origin and essence, which sets the standards of its belief and life. This refers to the use of the Bible as an objective revelation. Therefore, every time we celebrate Bible Sunday, believers must re-establish their view of the Bible as the absolute and unique revelation for eternal salvation, not as the world's best-selling book or a great classic. And you should measure your level of knowledge about these words of the Bible and use it as an opportunity to start a new study of the Bible that suits your circumstances and stage.
Everyone lives in expectation of good results in their life.
You want your business, your studies, and everything you plan and pursue to go the way you expect.
Furthermore, we wish for a blessed old age and hope that beyond death we will live in Heaven, not Hell.
The desire for the fruit of a life of happiness, victory, and success is a universal belief that everyone has.
In particular, the saints are blessed people who have been promised by God to bear the fruit of such a life.
They are not just people who live with vague hopes and expectations, but are chosen beings who have been promised the blessings, victories and successes of life in Christ.
However, in order to obtain the fruits of that life, the saints need a proper attitude of faith.
Let's think about it together.
1. To abide in Christ
The Lord has declared that only those who have a close relationship with Him can obtain the fruits of God's blessed life.
Just as a tree branch can bear fruit only when it is connected to its trunk and roots, humans must become people of Christ Jesus to receive the results of life as a “good product” from God the Creator.
Just as the fruit of a tree branch must be supplied with nutrients from the roots and branches to produce abundant fruit, only those who receive the heavenly truth and life through fellowship with Christ Jesus will be able to bear fruit of a beautiful and righteous life.
2. We must act like Christ
To abide in Christ includes to walk like Christ.
Only those who, like Christ, lead their lives in love, righteousness, and goodness, will receive eternal fruit.
With a selfish heart, can you compromise with injustice for temporary gain and become a team, and the wealth and honor you get in return can last forever?
Rather, the fruits of life obtained through such actions will become “evidence of judgment” for God and people.
Because Christ lived a life of absolute obedience to God's truth, he obtained the fruit of eternal victory.
Therefore, the saints must act in righteousness and love like Christ in everything.
Only that way is the royal road to success and victory in life.
Illustration - Why you should memorize the Bible
A pastor was visiting from house to house.
However, I knocked on the door of a certain butler several times, but there was no answer.
When I looked inside through the window, the TV was turned on and it looked like someone was there.
So the pastor wrote Revelation 3:20 on his business card, and then put it in the gap in the door.
[Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone opens the door, he will enter.]
The next Sunday, the deacon living in that house gave the pastor a note with his name and Genesis 3:10 written on it.
[Genesis 3:10 I have heard your voice, but you hid naked.]
On the other hand, the fruit needs time to grow.
The fruit is an organism that is made with time.
There is no seed that is planted and sown immediately turns into fruit.
The reward of eternal life that the saints enjoy can also be obtained by waiting, and the fruits of faith also need a period of growth.
Righteousness and good deeds done on this earth will only appear as fruits in the world after time passes.
Therefore, we must know that 'time' is also an important tool used in the Lord's providence, and we must learn to wait patiently for everything.
We should always meditate on the Bible's teaching, which compares the life of a believer to a life of fruitfulness, to learn a deeper lesson.
The saints who fill their lives with the attitude of sacrifice, faith, and perseverance will receive the fruit of a noble life.
