The divine nature in us (17), temperance, perseverance, perseverance, godliness

(2 Peter 1:4-9) “By this he has given us that precious and exceedingly great promise, that through this promise you will escape (forsaken) the corruption in the world through lust, and those who are partakers of the divine nature. Therefore, be more diligent, supplying to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. This is enough for you, so that you do not become sluggish and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; but whoever does not have these things is blind, lack of vision, and has forgotten the cleansing of his old sins.”
1. The meaning of godliness in the Bible.
(James 1:26-27) “If anyone thinks himself to be devout and does not bridle his tongue and deceives his heart, then this man’s godliness is in vain. This is godliness without it, to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
1) The biblical meaning of the word godly is ‘fear God’.
- It means serving God with fear and trembling and obeying His will.
* To deceive one's own heart is to say that you believe and live according to it.
* We often deceive ourselves.
* In general, I do not think that I am living a bad life or that I am a flawed person.
* I think I'm doing my best, so I think of others even if they don't like me.
* If you fall short of the standard of significance you think, you will be zealous for criticism and criticism.
* At the same time, he is tolerant of making the same mistake himself. : You are deceiving yourself.
* If the other person deceives you, you are angry, but it is okay to deceive yourself.
* Let's think about it. Have you ever committed a crime yourself, judging that it was wrong?
* A godly person is someone who is sensitive to these things.
* In other words, it refers to a person who admits his/her own faults and is able to reprove himself. : repent
* You can make mistakes, but your attitude toward them is a factor in your godliness.
* Only those who are courageous can admit their mistakes to others and turn around.
* Personal and spiritual maturity cannot be achieved without repentance. : David's character
* To believe in God is to achieve Christian godliness.
2) The piety of the one who bridles his tongue
- There is a fragrance emanating from words and deeds in humans. : the scent of personality
* Get to know the other person's information through conversation.
* Knows occupation, hobbies, family life, surrounding relationships, personality, level of knowledge, level of personality, and character.
* You can even tell if the body is cut or not.
* Distinguish between scent and odor through each individual's words and actions.
* The fragrance of a person's personality is not what he or she feels, but what others always feel.
* The smell of arrogance, the smell of frivolity, the smell of petty, the smell of pride, the smell of greed, the smell of selfishness
The smell of lewdness, the smell of impatience, the smell of disobedience
* The fragrance of humility, the fragrance of meekness, the fragrance of good deeds, the fragrance of obedience, the fragrance of selflessness, the fragrance of righteousness
* Gagging the tongue means that the stench is purified through the teachings of the Word and appears as a fragrance.
* A godly person must be consistent with his words and actions. ; not to be a liar
(James 2:4) “He who says, I know him, and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
* A godly person must be one who responds to God. : because we believe in the Lord
* The language of the godly should heal wounds, bring peace to the community, teach with God's precepts, and set an example for yourself.
3) Those who do not deceive themselves
(James 4:17) “Therefore, if a man knows how to do good and does not do it, it is sin.”
(James 1:22) “Be ye doers of the Way, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
- Knowing what is right and not doing it is a sin.
* It is a sin to deceive oneself.
* Hearing the word of God and knowing it but not doing it is deceiving.
- A godly person is one who practices the right morality.
4) Possessing practical faith in relationship with God: a godly person
- Be pure and undefiled before God.
(1 Timothy 4:8) “Physical exercise is of little benefit, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise in this life and in the life to come.”
* Trying to look right in front of people is just physical exercise. : There are some benefits.
* A truly godly person always acts as he does before God.
5) Possessing practical faith in relationships with people
- Mercy, compassion, altruism, and self-sacrificing faith: imitating Jesus and the teachings of Jesus
* Practical life to look after and take care of those who are weaker and more difficult than ourselves
* Leadership role to set up those who are weak in faith
* Practical life of caring and serving those around
5) The role of true light and salt in a dark world
- to keep oneself unstained by the world
* Light and salt affect themselves rather than being affected by others.
* Living with a clear attitude as a Christian.
