Title: The Attributes of God in Us (12)

Contents

Jeonju Nambu Church The disposition of God in us (11) Temperance in knowledge, patience in temperance

December 17, 2011

(2 Peter 1:4-9) “By this he has given us that precious and exceedingly great promise, that through this promise you will escape (forsaken) the corruption in the world through lust, and those who are partakers of the divine nature. Therefore, be more diligent, supplying to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. This is enough for you, so that you do not become sluggish and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; but whoever does not have these things is blind, lack of vision, and has forgotten the cleansing of his old sins.”

1. What is faith?

1) Faith is a complete transition from humanism to neo-capitalism. : The biggest revolutionary change of your life

- Faith is a new birth through Jesus Christ. : new creation

* It is similar to changing yourself from a country called Korea to a person from another country in an instant.

* However, during the grace period, you do not go to your home country and live in the country.

* Now you are no longer bound by the country of the past. : The ambassador of the home country is protected as a citizen of the home country.

* However, while living there, you must also obey the laws of the local country.

* When the time comes and the repatriation is made, the local law has nothing to do with you.

* However, wherever you are, you are the status of your home country and you must live for your home country.

* We must be bound by God's law as the people of heaven by theocraticism.

* However, there are people who have changed their status and still do not live according to their status.

* Anyone who turns the enemy into an ally must be completely on the ally's side.

* What would you do if you could not differentiate between the enemy and the allies?

(Colossians 1:21-22) “You, who were once alienated and enemies in heart because of your evil deeds, now have reconciled you through the death of his flesh, to present you holy, blameless, blameless before him” (Colossians 1:21-22).

* Change is to throw away the old one's own and put on the completely new one.

* Israel's Zionism is to live only as God's people, no matter what country they live in.

* And he went toward Zion, the kingdom of God, with his longing for his own kingdom.

* Their passion for Zion means abandoning everything before and breaking with the past.

* Do we here really live as God-centered people of the kingdom of heaven?

* Change as a Christian can be called a revolutionary change. : I just don't practice

2. The purpose of faith is the glory of God. : Why do you believe?

- All God's plans, purposes, and joys belong only to man. : anywhere in the bible

* God's focus is on man.

* The focus of God's creation of man is also focused solely on God.

* Don't forget that we are God's creations.

* It is natural for God to judge those who deviate from this purpose.

* No one tolerates things that deviate from their purpose. : Attributes of judgment

* Determining what is right or wrong according to a set purpose or rule and handling it.

(Romans 12:2) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

* The meaning of these words is that all Christians are to be pleasing to God.

* Don't follow the trend of the times (next door, around) and change it to the bone. : Social universality

* Change your mind, change your thoughts, change the way you think. : Take a change.

* Do your deeds in the name of the Lord. : Any action.

(1 Corinthians 10:31) “Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

* Judge whether your actions are focused on the glory of God. (You, not others)

* To do that, let's do the work of digging out for the glory of God.

* Removal of unnecessary parts of the body cannot be done without pain. : same.

* This is moderation (節制, 切除). And for self-control, you must have the pain of patience.

* I have the pain of excision, what do I do for surgery? : For a healthier body

* We must overcome the pain of temperance with patience for a healthier soul.

* This toil and patience of faith is to become like the Lord. : for participation in the divine nature

* Those who think that faith means only blessings cannot serve God properly. : double character

- Temperance is to imitate the image of the Lord who strictly limits one's abilities.

(Philippians 2:5-8) “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God to be robbery, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, and became in the likeness of men. Being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of a cross.”

3. Have we truly believed in God and received Jesus Christ as our Lord in our hearts?

1) Are you a true Christian?

- Have you been converted from a humanist to a neo-humanist at the same time as you believe?

* We have already declared this. : baptism

(1 Peter 3:21) “Water now saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is baptism, not the removal of impurities from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience.”

* Do we acknowledge that God judges us as he judges everything that has lost its purpose?

* Do we believe that God judges all our actions?

(Philippians 2:12) “Therefore, my beloved, always obey, not only in my presence, but even more now in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.”

* Those who look to the kingdom of God with hope should not neglect their own vigilance.

(1 Corinthians 10:12) “Therefore, let those who think that they are standing (the saints) take heed lest they fall.”
