Title "The Blessed Country"/Deuteronomy 28:1-14
Content 1. Introduction
Today's text is a part of Moses' farewell sermon. In other words, it is a will. A will is the most important thing for the dying person to say and what to leave behind. Feeling the shortness of his life, the Israeli hero Moses is giving Israel the most important and most important lesson in his life. Moses is admonishing Israel's obedience by contrasting blessings and curses in his will.
Last Wednesday (25th), the inauguration ceremony of President Kim Dae-jung was held. The media gave historical significance to it as the first change of government between the ruling and opposition parties. And the inauguration ceremony was enough to arouse the anticipation of the whole people with a festive atmosphere. However, many difficulties abound. The immediate problem we face right now is economic recovery. Our church should pray for President Kim Dae-jung and other government officials. This is also the teaching of the Bible. However, what we all need to know clearly is that the source of blessing is God, and there are clear prerequisites for receiving blessings from Him. If so, what kind of countries and people can receive God's blessings?
2. Body
Today's text can be divided into two main parts. First, verses 1-14 are the content of blessings and verses 15-68 are the content of curses. And verses 1-14 can be divided into two parts again. Verses 1-6 are blessings for the individual and verses 7-14 provide blessings for the whole nation.
In the meantime, our country has achieved economic growth as well as spiritual growth through God's blessing. The entire country fell to ashes on June 25, which lasted three years, but it was the first miracle of the Han River in 20 years. And it continued to grow and became a prosperous country with a national income of 10,000 dollars. However, in the late 80s and 90s, spiritual growth stopped and the church brought negative growth. At the same time, the national consciousness was devastated, and various crimes and corruption began to spread on this earth. No, such a sin has already existed for a long time, but it is true that I closed my eyes and ran to the easy thought of what would happen. However, corruption and crime spread throughout society, including education, politics, the legal world, and, most importantly, the religious world. Rather, ridicule and ridicule are poured out on those who are honest and good. Given this situation, I think it is natural to go through the current economic crisis.
Now it's a dead end. This country cannot stand upright if even teenagers, who are called tomorrow's protagonists, commit various violent crimes and are caught up in the lamentable convenienceism of celebrities.
It is natural to fly outside the eyes of God. Now that we have reached such a difficult situation, above all else, the church must wake up. Fortunately, there are many gatherings such as the National Salvation Prayer Meeting, which is fortunate. We must turn this economic crisis into a spiritual opportunity. We should use it as an opportunity for spiritual recovery.
And we must constantly pray for our country and people. Samuel said that not praying for the country is a sin. Paul also exhorts us to pray for rulers. He said that this was acceptable to God even if he was good. In fact, there are many sins that happened yesterday day and night, and even at this very hour. What to do with these many and many sins? Is there any other way other than the way the church is responsible for repenting? It is the church, the members of the church, and I must be in charge. Keep this in mind starting today. Be sure to include this prayer topic when you pray. Only then can I, the church, and the country live.
3. Conclusion
In order for this country and this people to live, the church must first live. In order for the church to live, the members must live. In order for a church member to live, I must live. We need to restore our spirituality. To do that, we need to go back to the Bible. To return to the Bible is to do the Bible. You have to live by that record. It is about living a life that is exemplary. It is to live a life of prayer. In fact, how well do we know this? Let's decide. Let's be prepared. Let's eat heartily. It must be in God's eyes right from me. You have to wake up from me. Start doing so today. It is only a matter of time for God's blessing to come again. Amen
