Title: The Blessing of Compassion Received by Mercy
Contents
‘Blessing of mercy’ received through ‘mercy’ (Matthew 5:7)
Introduction: Compassion is the addition of ‘empathy’ to taking care of the other person with pity.
First, “mercy” is what God has given us.
1) The objects of mercy are
You shall not harm a widow or an orphan (Exodus 22:22).
When you were harvesting grain in your field, if you forgot one piece of the field, go and take no more, and leave it for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and the LORD your God will bless you in all that you do (Deuteronomy 24:19). )
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world (James 1:27)
2) The way of compassion is to fill in the .
Let the Levites, who have no portion or inheritance among you, and the strangers and orphans and widows who sojourn in your town, come and eat and be satisfied, so that the LORD your God will bless you in all that you do (Deuteronomy 14:29). )
When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John, who was called Mark, where many people gathered and prayed (Acts 12:12).
3) The attitude of compassion must be the attitude of ' '.
He answered and said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself." (Luke 10:27)
Second, remember I already have “compassion”.
I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a rapist, but on the contrary, I found mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief (1 Timothy 1:13)
This is a faithful saying, worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Among sinners, I am chief (1 Timothy 1:15).
For God has imprisoned all in disobedience, that he may have mercy on all (Romans 11:32).
God has made all people captive to disobedience. But in the end he had mercy on them all.
Finally, show mercy through “compassion”.
He knelt down on his knees and called out aloud, saying, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." After saying this, he fell asleep (Acts 7:60).
In your opinion, which of these three would be a neighbor to the man who was struck by the robber? He said, "He showed mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." (Luke 10:36-37)
1) Be compassionate.
But let him who has authority do it in authority, let him who gives alms in faithfulness, let him who rules with diligence, and whoever shows mercy with joy (Romans 12:8)
2) If you have mercy, don't do it.
For this reason we do not lose heart, as we have received this ministry and have been shown mercy (2 Corinthians 4:1).
3) The object of mercy is not .
Do not give the dogs anything holy, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces (Matthew 7:6).
Outgoing remark: Be a saint who possesses mercy by showing mercy, and become a model of believers who act toward all people.
