Title: The Blessing of Eternal Life
Contents
Text: Psalm 133:1~3
God is the source of blessing.
In Genesis 1:27-28, “God created man in his own image, and God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it and rule it”. As soon as God created man, he blessed them to live as the lord of all things, so everyone should live with blessings. God's blessings are ① individual (Psalm 128:2; Proverbs 3:13) ② offspring (Proverbs 20:7; Isaiah 44:3) ③ family (2 Samuel 6:11; 7:29) ④ nation and nation (Ecclesiastes 10: 17; Isaiah 19:25).
The more you receive, the better.
Heb 6:14 says, “I will surely bless you and bless you.” In Job 42:12, “You have blessed Job, making it more than the first blessing.” Your savior, you widen my horizons... “He said to be blessed.
Just as the apartments of the saints are blessed and enlarged, our Mokyang Church built a chapel of 1,350 pyeong, which is 100 times the size of 17 pyeong (14 pyeong) in 18 years, and gave them a large parking lot. The words of “add more” were fulfilled. I pray that God will widen the path of expanding the boundaries of our church and give more to the path that will bless you as well.
Our religious life is not a belief in ups and downs that we believe in for the purpose of blessing. Our view of faith is to believe and give thanks for the fact that our purpose is to serve God and that God will bless us. Even the fact that God blesses us is not created out of our need, but rather we believe what God has promised us through the Bible.
Blessings are God's promises. However, even if there is a promise from God, if we do not live according to the word of God and ask for our own desires, God will not give us any blessings.
In verses 2-3 today, there are two blessings that God gives.
1. It is a blessing to increase your status.
In verse 2, the phrase “precious oil from the head flowed down on the beard, that is, the beard of Aaron” is a blessing that signifies the rise in status. In the Old Testament, the act of pouring oil on one's head was performed when one became a priest or king as a sign of gender and exaltation. Aaron, who appears in the text, was Moses' older brother and became the first priest. The scene where the precious olive oil is poured over the long, unshaven beard signifies abundant blessings, abundant blessings, and overflowing blessings. I pray that this full and abundant blessing will be with you in your graceful life, health, evangelism, material and gifts.
2. It is a blessing to prosper in life.
Verse 3 says, “As the dew of Hermon falls on the mountain of Zion.” These words can be easily understood if you know the climate of Canaan. The land of Canaan has a desert climate, and it rains only once or twice a year, so the sunshine is abundant, but it is always dry, making it difficult for animals and plants to live. However, it is said that when dew falls on Mount Hermon, the highest, the morning dew cools the air and the ground, and the lower Mount Zion is affected by it, resulting in a bountiful harvest. In fact, the Jordan River flows down from the stem of Mount Hermon.
3. However, the blessings did not stop there and He poured more precious blessings on them, and that blessing is the “blessing of eternal life” at the end of verse 3. This blessing is a spiritual blessing that can be enjoyed by the saints who are satisfied with God, give thanks to God, and are blessed with God.
There are three keys to receiving these precious blessings, which are found in verse 1, “Brothers live together in unity.” In the Old Testament, “brothers” refers to the entire nation of Israel, and in the New Testament, it refers to the saints who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. “To live together in unity” refers to reconciliation among believers and means to become one in Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 17:1 “It is better to have a piece of dry bread and be at peace than to have a house full of flesh and quarrel”, Matthew 5:23-24 “When offering a gift on the altar, there is something that your brother may complain about. If you remember that you are here, leave your gift before the altar, and go first and be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.”
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
If the brothers and sisters in Jesus are uncomfortable with each other, prayer, blessings, and worship (sacrifices) are blocked. There should be no strife, strife, envy, or jealousy among the saints. Galatians 6:10 says, “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to families of faith.” . Today's ① rise in status ② prosperity in life ③ blessings of eternal life I pray for all of you who want to unite with your brothers and love in Jesus Christ and overflow. Amen.
