Title: The Blessing of Meeting Jesus

Subject: The Blessing of Meeting Jesus
Word: Luke 2:25-38
It's Christmas.
Today we finally light the fifth candle.
That's right.
I thank the Lord for coming as a light in this dark world, driving away all darkness and guiding and guiding our lives with a bright light.
Christmas is called Christmas in English, which is a compound word of Christ mass. In other words, it means worship for Greece.
What is the theme of the Christmas message? I'm trying to prove it.
I hope you have the blessing of meeting Jesus today.
We have all heard about the purpose of Jesus' coming to this earth.
1) The prophecy has been fulfilled.
** The coming of the Messiah promised from the Old Testament, the word of God, has been fulfilled.
Jesus did not come simply as the Messiah of the Israelites, but came to this earth for mankind!
This is coming soon.
2) It is the day when peace between God and man was established.
** The birth of Jesus is the day of reconciliation with God, which has been a barrier between God and humans, and peace comes.
3) It is peace between human beings.
** The cross of Jesus removed all the sins of the world and reconciled Jews and Gentiles.
This is the day when God gave us the authority to become children of God through the King who came not only as the King of the Jews, but as the King of the whole universe.
As a result!
Do you know the purpose of Jesus coming to this earth as the Messiah?
Who were the people who actually got it on the day Jesus came?
, and only appearing today, many people were in the city of Bethlehem and could not see it.
** Jesus was there, but he could not see him.
So are we today.
There is also a church.
There are pastors, elders, priests, deacons, and saints.
But no one saw Jesus.
** I believe in God in my heart, but in the corner of my heart, Jesus exists only as a religious image.
The Lord is coming back to this earth.
Thinking of the times when we did not see Jesus even if Jesus existed, we want to become children of faith who can truly see the Lord who will come again.
I hope that the same blessing that Simeon and Anna were able to see the Lord will be done to the members of Joowon Church today.
Then, what kind of saint will receive the blessing of meeting Jesus?
First, a righteous and godly person can receive the blessing of meeting Jesus. (verse 25)
1) The Bible does not tell in detail about Simeon.
** It does not tell where he is, what family he was born into and how he lived.
But, in a word, how would you rate it?
testify that.
2) There is no need to say anything else about Simeon.
** We evaluate and talk to many people in our lives.
What are people's standards? Evaluate the person, etc.
But God's standards are different.
What is God's standard? is that
What is the beautiful attitude of faith in God? only that.
3) is called.
** - has a meaning.
Simeon? With true peace in any situation!
Do not harm others in relationships with others,
He was a man of righteousness, prudence, fear of God, guard against sin, and possessing the power of godliness.
Why did the people of the age who lived with Jesus not know that Jesus existed?
** I don't know if I lived hard in my daily life, but it means that I did not live righteously and reverently before God.
5) We must be challenged by the fact that Simeon had a right relationship with God as a man who lived up to God's expectations.
** God is fulfilling His will through those who live in a right relationship with God.
Second, those who have waited for God's comfort will receive the blessing of meeting Jesus.
1) Above all, who is Simeon?
was the one waiting for
What is ** ?
It refers to the time of God's promised purpose and new hope, and Simeon was a man who lived with the knowledge that the comfort that God promised would come at any time.
A person with the expectation of meeting can meet .
** Simeon was a man who waited for God's comfort in his life.
What does it mean?
That's right.
Jesus is the only source of comfort.
You can't get complete comfort from anything in the world.
You may feel good for a little while.
ex) Cleaning the house is a good day.
A week is good if you cut and groom your hair.
A month is good for a new car.
When buying a new home, 6 months is good.
If your children are successful, the few months are good and enjoyable, but they don't get you in the end.
2) After the prophet Malachi, the Israelites will spend 400 years in the middle age of the Old and New Testaments.
** For 400 years, no inspired prophet has appeared, and the word of God is rare.
Simeon at this time?
** He was a person of faith who waited patiently for the coming of the Messiah, confident of the coming of the Messiah, even though he lived in the so-called age of long silence.
3) Our faith today also wants to become a persistent faith.
** Today we must live while waiting for the second coming of the Lord.
Look at the various situations of life unfolding before us!
Indescribable things are happening.
Along with the Fall, trends of distrust and mutual trust are covering our lives today.
Like a very raging stream of water!
** No one has the power to stop that stream.
Rather, it is in this age of today, the age in which Simeon lived, in a situation in which, if the hand is wrong, it is swept away by the current.
Nevertheless!
** While waiting for the comfort of the Messiah that God had promised, I had the , and I was blessed to finally meet the , because I made new resolutions and persevered before God every day and ran non-stop for a godly life.
4) What about our Juwon Church members?
** I don't want to have it with other saints.
A lot of people say it with their mouths, but they brag about it!
Who are the members of Juwon Church? They must be those who wait.
** Just like Simeon was thrilled to see Jesus before he died and did a good job!
Our Juwon Church members!
I bless you to be the children of faith who finish your faith well in all your life and finish your life well.
Third, those who walk with the Holy Spirit receive the blessing of meeting the baby Jesus (25~27).
second half of verse 25
verse 26
verse 27
1) The greatest lesson of the life of Simeon, who received the blessing of meeting Jesus, is:
** is that Simeon is thorough.
What did Simeon do? The Holy Spirit insisted.
Simeon prayed for the coming of the Messiah for many years.
2) God allowed the revelation that the Messiah would come to the righteous and godly Simeon through the absolute of revelation.
** The fact that Simeon was not only led by the captivity of , but also heard the revelation of the Holy Spirit?
It is true that everything that happened to Simeon stemmed from and is entirely true.
3) We can think of Simeon as accidentally entering the temple.
** Even if it could be, it is impossible for anyone to see and distinguish them in the temple.
Joseph and Mary?
As a normal life, I couldn't find any other reason.
4) Also, if Jesus had grown up to be a healthy young man or had the image of a youth, the situation could have been different.
** Jesus was not seen as merely visiting for the purification ceremony.
It was a very ordinary situation, an ordinary thing.
But who of the Holy Spirit? There is a person who can see the work of God in the extreme.
5) What do the saints need today?
** will be
in other words? In the end, it is the one who receives the .
It is the one who led you to the temple,
It was he who prepared Simeon to receive the baby Jesus.
** Remember that the work of the Holy Spirit was carried out precisely and accurately even in ordinary human life.
6) Juwon Church members!
** Even if life is ordinary
Why! If it's normal, it's because.
Simeon because of meeting the baby Jesus?
** While fulfilling his mission, he saw the promise of God being fulfilled.
And he was able to enjoy
7) Verse 30 -
Simeon confesses.
**
It is because of God that they saw that the earth was sown.
finally! Simeon was left in our memory as the one who met the baby Jesus and opened the .
Remember that only people of the Holy Spirit can fully meet the Lord!
Fourth, those who love God day and night receive the blessing of meeting the Lord. (verses 37-38)
1) Unlike Simeon's introduction, in Anna's case, even the tribes appear very clearly.
** After 7 years of marriage, she became a widow and lived for 84 years.
According to Israeli customs?
Anna would have been at least 105 years old if she had been married at 14 and lived 7 years and then 84 as a widow.
2) Anna was the woman whose energy was waning due to old age.
** However, the lack of energy did not stop it.
finally! A person's passion is what makes that person exist.
because he became a widow
not this.
Anna's life As a woman.
A widow without a husband.
He was a man without joy in life.
3) What are the hopes and passions given to Anna?
** Meeting the Messiah who solves and protects all life's problems became the goal of life.
Who can comfort the people of Israel at the time when they were oppressed and embarrassed by a foreign country?
Anna knew better than anyone that there was only one person.
4) Anna lived in the temple and lived through worship, fasting, and prayer.
** Even if it is a simple expression of worship, what moved?
He is a man who loves and longs for the Lord.
A loved one can meet a loved one.
If there is no love and no interest, they are by your side and you can see them, but you cannot see them.
5) We can find out if we read the Word carefully!
Verse 38
** Don't you? I am not saying that all Jews denied Jesus' Messiahship.
say there was
Today, when Anna hears and proclaims the good news of salvation!
like it was!
On Christmas Day, the birthday of Baby Jesus!
We should pray to God with joy for the day when more and more people are being saved because of baby Jesus.
Fellow members of Joowon Church!
If being a child of God is such a happy blessing, I sincerely hope that there will be a tremendous blessing to meet the person who will come again starting from .
