Old Testament
10. Nations have surrounded me; I will cut them off in the name of the LORD.
11. They surrounded me and besieged me; in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.
12. They surrounded me like bees, but they are burned up like thorns, and I will cut them off in the name of the LORD.
13. You pushed me down, but the LORD helped me.
14. The LORD is my strength and my praise; he is my salvation.
new testament
28. But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons, and he went to the first and said, "Son, go and work in the vineyard today."
29. He answered and said, “Father, I will go.” He did not go.
30. I went to my second son and spoke the same way again, and he answered and said, “No,” but after that, he repented and went away.
31. Which of the two did his father's will? He said, "The second son." Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes will enter the kingdom of God before you."
32. John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collector and the prostitute did; and when you saw this, you finally repented and did not believe.
sermon
If he can repent, he is a blessed man. It is difficult to repent, and if he can repent, it is because God has done it for him out of love.
Jesus told the parable of the two sons to the high priests and elders. A certain father had two sons, and when he told the first to go to work in the vineyard, he said yes, and he did not go. When I told the second son, he said no, he repented and went to work. The Lord asked his hearers, who did the will of the Father? They replied that it was the second son. The Lord said that tax collectors and prostitutes will enter the kingdom of God before you. He said it was because the religious leaders did not believe in the Lord, and after seeing the publicans and prostitutes believed, they eventually repented and did not believe.
Why is it difficult to repent?
1. It's because you're not good at ( ) your own faults.
2. Because it is difficult to do ( ) even if you know you did something wrong.
3. Repentance is difficult because ( ) must follow.
4. Because there is no ( ) that life will be better after repenting.
Why is it easy to repent?
1. Because ( ) received.
2. Because ( ) received.
3. Because ( ) exists.
4. Because ( ) leads.
Are we penitent or unrepentant? If you can repent, for what reason, and if you cannot repent, for what? The past, good or bad, is already in the past. Therefore, you should not live a life that is tied to the past, whether it is a good past or a bad past. Repentance allows us to free ourselves from the past and open up a new future.
