Title: The Blessing of the Tribe of Judah
Contents
Text: Genesis 37:18-28
Abraham's grandson Jacob was praying at the Jabbok River and received a new name given by God, “Israel” (Genesis 32:28). “Your name will no longer be called Jacob, but Israel.”
This Israeli had 12 sons. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judas were obtained from Leah, Dan and Naphtali from Rachel's maidservant Bilhah, Gad and Asher from Leah's maidservant Zilpah, Issachar and Zebulun from Leah, Joseph and Benjamin from Rachel. got
They later formed the 12 tribes of the nation of Israel and became the patriarchs.
Among the 12 tribes, there was a man who took the lead in the history of the nation of Israel, Judah and his descendants, the tribe of Judah. Judah was the fourth son of Leah (Genesis 29:32-35).
God gave great blessings to Judah and his descendants, the tribe of Judah. There is a clear reason for this. It was not just given freely, but Judas had a vessel to receive. I hope that the beloved saints will also become people of great faith like Judas so that 2006 will be a year of blessing. Amen.
Who was Judas?
First, they valued life (Genesis 37:26).
In Genesis 37:26, when the brothers were about to kill his brother Joseph, who was known as a dreamer, Judas stepped in and stopped him. “What good is it if we kill our brother and shed his blood? Let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let us not lay our hands on him, for he is our brother and his flesh.” Joseph pleaded not to die.
On June 19, 2005, at the front line of Yeoncheon, 8 people were killed and 6 people were injured when a colleague opened fire. This is even more heartbreaking because it is a pervasive aspect of the trend that leans on life.
Life is truly precious, more precious than the world. Students should not bully their peers at school. A Christian should have a broad heart to show and love.
In Matthew 16:26, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? We must respect human life.
Let's all hold hands and confess. “I will cherish life all my life”
Second, he took the lead in serving (Numbers 10:13).
The tribe of Judah, a descendant of Judah, was on the right hand side of the east when the tabernacle stayed when they were living in the wilderness after the Exodus. When the tabernacle moved, it was the tribe that took the lead in front of the tabernacle and made sacrifices in preparation for all dangers. The tribe of Judah was at the forefront of their ministry. I did my best. They sacrificed themselves to protect the tabernacle and for the house of God. God saw this loyalty of the tribe of Judah and blessed their descendants. In this way, a life of loyalty, devotion, and service brings down God's blessings.
Third, he became a spearhead in war (Judges 1:2).
The Israelites who settled in the land of Canaan under Joshua's guidance did not conquer all of the land of Canaan, but mostly lived in the mountainous areas as livestock. Before crossing the Jordan, in the time of Moses, the 11 tribes of Israel divided the land of Canaan. However, after a certain amount of time passed, and as he tried to escape from war and manage his life, Judah took the lead in conquering the land of Canaan by igniting the fire. “God has given us this land” He was able to become the vanguard of the war because he believed in God's promise.
Fourth, we paid tithes (Nehemiah 13:10-12).
Originally, land was not given to the tribe of Levi as an inheritance. The 11 tribes' offerings to God became food for them. However, when the people of Israel did not pay tithes because they were difficult and poor, and the tribe of Levi became destitute, they gave up their duties and left to find another job. Then the prophet Nehemiah rebuked the people of Israel, and the tribe of Judah took the lead and brought the tithe into the barn, so the priests offered sacrifices and the Levites performed their duties. So you will escape the wrath of God. God blessed this tribe of Judah. Tithing This must be paid. God pours out tithes as seeds of blessing so that there is no place to store them. I wish you all the best in your tithing life in the new year.
There are three blessings that God poured out on the tribe of Judah.
① We received the first blessing (Numbers 10:31). When the tabernacle stopped, they encamped on the right side of the east, and when they moved, they took the lead in the front.
② We received the blessing of victory (Judges 1:2). In the war, God helped the tribe of Judah to win.
③ I received the blessing of my family (Matthew 1:1-5). Jesus was born of the tribe of Judah.
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
We welcomed the new year 2006 with God's grace. In the new year, like Judas, let us honor life, take the lead in service, be the vanguard in battle, and pay an honest tithe. And if God prepares it, I pray that you will become the main character of Ttub's blessing, victory, and family blessing.
