Title: The Blessings of Abraham
Regarding how great it is to be patient, and how difficult it is to endure, the writer of Proverbs says, “He that is slow to anger is better than a mighty man, and he who rules his heart is better than he who takes a city” (Proverbs 16: 32) said.
In a word, the difficult and difficult thing is patience.
However, the writer of Hebrews testifies that believers who have the heavenly hope must persevere and fulfill God's promise.
Without perseverance, God's promises and blessings cannot be fulfilled.
It can be said that Abraham, the father of faith, is a living witness to this.
I hope you will persevere and achieve the victory of faith through Abraham.
Yehwa-Apple Evangelism
There was an apple cider woman. Although the church members preached countless times, the aunt was an impregnable castle. Then one day, the old woman started to go to church dressed neatly. The church members asked how they came to church with a surprised expression. her answer.
“There was a gentleman who came to our store three times a week. He always bought ugly, less fresh apples. I was so sorry, so I gave him a few apologies, but he waved them away. It's okay to be a little rotten because you're going to eat it right now. Instead, I told others to sell fresh apples. From then on, I developed a little respect for him. But one day, he invites me to believe in Jesus. In order to believe in the God he believed in, I followed him without hesitation.”
1. Waiting for promises to be fulfilled with patience
The writer of Hebrews says that Abraham fulfilled what God had promised him by being patient.
Abraham received the promise of children when he left Ur of the Chaldeans and headed for Canaan.
And at this time, Abraham was 75 years old.
However, 25 years after receiving this promise, Abraham had Isaac through his 90-year-old wife Sarah at the age of 100.
Even in an almost impossible situation, Abraham hoped that God's promise would be fulfilled by persevering for 25 years.
And I was sure.
This is the true form of the patient.
Being able to wait patiently for facts that seem impossible to achieve in reality is true patience.
Let's learn to live this kind of patience.
Yehwa - Elder Daewoo Deacon
Our church receives 2/3 of the votes of the baptized members and is appointed as an elder. In the first ballot, multiples are drawn in the order of the votes received, and in the second ballot, 2/3 of the votes must be obtained. Ordained butler Kwon Oh-sul scored the most points in the first round of voting. He came out during the greeting and said, “I am a 65-year-old butler. The position of an ordained deacon for the remaining five years is also great for me. Rejuvenate the church by electing young elders.” His concessions brought young people to the ranks of elders. After that, I never thought of Deaconess Kwon as a deacon. seated at the top of any seat.
2. Self-sacrifice with patience
When talking about patience, there is one Israeli chieftain who cannot be left out, and that is Isaac.
After the death of his father Abraham, Isaac was threatened by the Canaanites several times over a well problem.
And each time Isaac yielded the well he had dug.
He even gave up ownership of the well he dug in his father's day and gave it up.
Still, Isaac did not claim ownership over this matter, nor did he have a dispute with his neighbor.
In the wilderness, he gave up a well that was more precious than life several times, but he endured and resolved disputes with meekness.
Who has such patience today?
In this modern society where quarrels and quarrels arise even when small problems arise, we must learn the patience of Isaac.
This is the secret to victory in faith.
If that is the case, then, saints, I hope that from now on, you will get rid of the bad habits of hasty anger and hasty complaining.
And I hope you will train to persevere like Job, Paul, and the Old Testament patriarchs here in the Bible.
Please keep in mind that only those who achieve the victory of faith through perseverance will receive the crown of heaven and enjoy it.
