Title: The Bold Man/Job 13:1-19
Content Job 13:1-19
bold person
We are well aware of the poet Yun Dong-ju's poem, which begins like this: 'Toward the sky, there is not a single point of shame....' This is a summary of the poet's earnest wish for a righteous and worthwhile life in one word.
However, the text reveals that Job is just such a person. That's what verse 18 says, "I know that I am righteous." Hearing these words immediately makes you feel very repulsive.
How holy are you to say that? It even makes me feel skeptical. However, if you look closely, this is not what it means. This is Job's sincere confession of faith that I lived righteously before God without shame. As a human being, it is a confession of faith that I have lived the best godly life I can give to God.
Today, we too can confess our dignity and boldness in the new eternal life we have gained through faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Then, we are going to seek the grace of the Lord by looking through the text to see what kind of boldness can arise when we live righteously.
##### 1. If you live righteously, you can be bold before God.
Before revealing himself to be a righteous man, Job confidently states in verse 3 of the text, “Truly, I am speaking to the Almighty, and to argue with God.” Of course, this statement of wanting to argue with God implies that he wants to appeal to God for his miserable and unfair situation, but it also teaches how bold he was before God.
In fact, no one can be righteous and courageous before God. Sinful humans face God and die instantly because of His glorious majesty and holiness. So what we are talking about here is righteousness [which has to do with sincerity and sincerity in striving to reach the stature of Christ].
- We hope that we will become bold before God by living our lives righteously.
##### 2. If we live righteously, we can be bold in front of people.
Verse 13 says, “Be still, and leave me alone, that I may speak. Whatever happens, I will suffer.>
The three friends continued and mercilessly condemned Job, but Job himself was not guilty of such a condemnation, so he showed a heavenly dignified attitude in front of his friends who condemned him.
'Shut your mouths. I'm confident I'll be able to do anything.' How proud and energetic is this attitude?
In general, people do not know how to fear God, but people are very afraid. No, it is also a human weakness to tremble to the point of being pathetic even in front of the same person in a certain situation.
Even now, sticks, knives, violence, torture, and threats are rampant around the world, darkening people's hearts. But we must know for sure. He who can be bold toward God can be bold toward anyone.
In the New Testament, John the Baptist proudly condemned King Herod's infidelity, even though his opponent was a king and he knew that he would be arrested and killed for his words.
--Let's live proudly in front of our people.
##### 3. A righteous person can be bold in himself
In front of his three friends, Job confessed in verse 16, "A bewildered man cannot come before him, and this will be my salvation." In a word, he showed the attitude that he had nothing to fuss about his conscience because he had nothing against himself, and that he could even be sure of his salvation.
Often, we think, 'How desirable would it be if we could be honest even if we ask our conscience?' Even if there is a person who takes an honest attitude in front of God and other people, even if the whole world opposes him, he can not stand still. It is not like a scorched conscience, but a good conscience that has no qualms toward God and people.
In the light of this conscience, a person who is not shy can have the boldness of a mountain even toward himself.
Saints!
I pray in the name of the Lord that you will live a life of bold faith that does not yield to anyone.
