Title: The Book of God
To repay the content” means that the builder does not have the ability or power to do what pleases him, but he has the same ability to act rightly (Calvin). To those whom God created and blessed (Genesis 1:26-28a), what is the power to act rightly and how we were created and saved;
1. Unable to offend the volume 19~20
(1) Humans cannot judge 19~ “...then, why does God make a mistake...” This verse is “15~18” This verse is “15~18” that God can harden people like Pharaoh as He wants (verse 18, Exodus 4). :21, 9:12) How can God “transgress” Pharaoh, that is, rebuke and wrath? God's use of mercy and strength is a plan for glory and a revelation of God Himself, that is, showing love and justice, so that we can know that it is the glory of God and the Lord (Exodus 14:4). When we have transgressions and commit sins, we must not put our own judgment first (1 Corinthians 4:3-5), and we must not blame God for our sins.
(2) Man cannot quarrel 20~ “Is this man apologetic?” The singular form of the opening refers to the interrogator of verse 19 and also to those who have the same mind. will be Because man is a creature, he does not know all the will of God the Creator, and since there are so many differences, he must know that he has neither the right nor the ability to protest. “Did you make me like this?” This is a quotation from “Isa 29:16, 45:9, Jer 18:1-6”, which puts out human limitations, and we cannot evaluate good will in any case (Deuteronomy 29:29). )
2. Absolute sovereignty 21~24
(1) No protests 21~ “Does the potter not have the authority to make a loaf of clay?” This is an illustration of the two prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah representing the Old Testament, emphasizing God's absolute sovereignty. A “potter” can pick up treasure-like pottery and make a toilet bowl with “a lump of clay” if necessary, but he can’t complain about why the toilet has made me humble. God's sovereignty gives birth to the elect and the elect (2 Tim. 4:20), and people who are like worms and worms (Job 25:5) must live worthy of God (2 Tim. 4:21). We are made as God intended. Even if there are hardships and tribulations, you just need to find the will of God and live in those circumstances.
(3) Salvation cannot be achieved by people 24~ “This vessel is us, the one who was called from among the Jews and Gentiles.” “This vessel is us” at the outset means “we who believe” are the chosen ones. Although the chosen people of the Old Testament were limited to Israel, there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles in the New Testament elect. Even Gentiles, those who are called to be true Israel have become children of God along with the Jews who have been called, and have been appointed as members of the universal church.
[Conclusion] We did not somehow become God's people, but were chosen by predestination (Psalm 139:16) and saved (Isaiah 43:1, 46:3). Therefore, whether we live or die for the good of Christ (Philippians 1:20), we will become a blessing vessel that brings glory to God.
