Title: The Bread of Eternal Life

Contents

bread of eternal life

(2009.11.15. Thanksgiving Sunday) (John 6:47~51)

Life is more precious than the whole world.

So life cannot be exchanged for anything in the world.

Food is also needed for life, which is irreplaceable and more precious than the whole world.

In order for the soul to live, there must be food for the spirit, and for the body to live, there must also be food for the body.

This bread is called bread in the Bible.

Also, we have designated today as Thanksgiving Day to give thanks.

Let us give thanks to God for providing food for our bodies and our souls.

During this year, we have been living with great love from God.

The very fact that we are alive is proof that we have received much grace from God.

Let's think about the grace God has given us this year.

1. Let's give thanks for the grace of giving us the bread of hard work.

It is said that the word ' is written at the entrance to a welfare facility.

Because they are severely disabled people, they do not even have the strength to get food, so they have to eat only what they bring. - How grateful are you to be able to work with a healthy body?

(Psalm 128:2) - “You shall eat according to the toil of your hands, and you shall be blessed and prosper.”

It is a blessing to be able to work hard, and it is a greater blessing to be rewarded for your hard work.

(Exodus 23:16) - “Keep the Feast of Harvest, for you reap the firstfruits of what you sowed in the field.

This verse also teaches the Thanksgiving of the Harvest Festival and the Thanksgiving of the Harvest Festival.

* Thanksgiving is the feast of giving thanks for what you sow, what you have achieved through hard work, and what you reap with your hard work.

*Even if you want to work hard - you may not be able to work because you are not in good health - Thank you for giving me health that is worth the hard work.

*I want to work hard, but I can't do it if I don't have a job. - Please give thanks to God for giving me a job that I can work hard for.

(Psalm 126:6) - "He who goes out weeping to sow seed will surely return with joy, with his sheaves of grain."

Please do not forget to thank God for giving us health to work hard and for giving us work to work hard.

2. Let's give thanks for the grace of giving us the miracle bread.

There are fruits of hard work that you get for your hard work, but sometimes you get fruits that are not related to hard work.

(6:49)-“Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, but they died.”

While the Israelites had been walking in the wilderness for 40 years, they could not farm.

During that time, they were not able to settle down or lead a planned life.

It was a path that we had to follow as God led us through a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud.

The land was a barren wilderness, and there was nowhere to go, so they could not farm. Would he have starved to death? - God fed such people 40 years with miraculous food.

Although I did not farm - God gave me enough food to eat in the morning every morning.

*God who miraculously gave manna in the wilderness, *God who sent crows to feed Elijah who had fled to the river, *God who sent a prophet to feed the woman who was grieving over the last remaining food to feed her until the famine was over. The God who helped the oil bottle overflow for the woman who used to work, and the God who gave the miracles of eating 5 bottles and 2 servings of the saints who were only listening to the gospel while enduring their hungry stomachs.

*In our church, too - when the efforts of the members of our church do not fall short - When you receive an unexpected call and the entire church veil is wrapped around nicely - Isn't it the bread of miracles, not the bread of hard work?

Did your hard work only pay off this year?

Even if you went crazy and didn't realize it, if you think carefully, if there are other fruits besides the result of your hard work, that is also a miracle fruit. - Thank you.

3. Let's give thanks for the grace of giving us the bread of eternal life.

How grateful we are to God, who gave us health and a place to work hard, and sometimes miracle fruits in addition to the fruits of our hard work.

I pray that you will be blessed with the fruits of your hard work and that you will be blessed with the fruits of miracles.

God not only helps our material life with the fruits of hard work and miracles, but he also gave the specially chosen people of God a fruit that is more noble than the fruits of these materials.

Let's read a few verses of the Bible.

(6:35) - "Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."

(6:48)-“I am the bread of life”

There is a new bread specially given only to the children God has chosen - that is, Jesus is the bread of life, the bread of eternal life.

*Jesus was sent as the bread of life for us.

* He called us to Jesus, the Bread of Life. - We met Jesus, believe in Him, and receive eternal life through Jesus.

(6:49-50)-“Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and yet they died, but this is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that no one can eat it and die.”

*Even if you farm and eat food, you cannot live forever.

*Even if you make a lot of money through hard work, you cannot buy eternal food.

*Even if we eat the miraculous food that God has given us, we cannot live forever. - God gave the Israelites miraculous food manna for 40 years, but all those who ate the miraculous food also died.

*What kind of fruit is more precious than the bread obtained from farming, the fruit of hard work, or the fruit of grace and miracles?

*It is this precious grace that He has given us the bread of life, the bread that never dies.

*Jesus, the Bread of Life, Jesus, the Bread of Eternal Life, and Jesus, who gives eternal life, has been sent to us.

And he called us to Jesus, the bread of eternal life. - These are the people who received the most precious bread as a gift.

*Dear Saints - Please give thanks to God for giving us health so that we can work hard again this year, and God for giving us a place to work hard.

*Besides the fruits obtained through hard work, let's give thanks while thinking of the miracle fruits that were given freely without any toil or reward.

*Jesus was sent to give us eternal life, and the grace that made us believe in Jesus so that we might have eternal life is the greatest grace - We have the greatest blessing in our lives as we worship today with faith without losing faith. Thinking of the precious fruits you have given me, I pray that you will glorify God with thanksgiving for this harvest.
