Title: The Brothers of Jesus

Content Also, the Bible speaks of our relationship with Jesus in various parables. what are there The parable of the bride and groom. It is a husband and wife relationship. It is a metaphor of the head and the body. A metaphor for a building. The parable of the vine and branches. The parable of the shepherd and the sheep. Many other parables explain our relationship with Jesus. In today's text, Jesus is our brother. We are the brothers of Jesus. Looking at today's text from the perspective of the brother of Jesus, I want to receive grace.

1. Who are we? What is a human? Verses 5-9

There was a father who had a son who was very illiterate. If you have taken the test, it is a bakery. It's the day these kids take their exams. “If I get a bakery today, I will cut off the relationship with the rich.” “What is richness?” The son went to school with a gloomy expression on his face. The son came home in the afternoon and went into his room without a greeting even though he saw his father. The father called his son. “You come. Did you fail the exam today?” “Who are you, old man?”

We live without knowing who we are. Who are we in today's text? Verses 5-9. Can't you believe this is such a huge statement? The author of Hebrews is talking about us humans, that is, what we are with Psalm 8. What are we humans? Dear saints, in verses 6-8, read the words “me” or “to me” with your name changed.

God did not subject the world to come to the angels. To whom? The world that comes to us humans has made it obedient. To whom did God subject all things? to us! All creation is subject to us. There are no exceptions. Verse 8 says that there was not one thing that was not obeyed.

Dear saints, don't these words sound like a lie? It doesn't make sense and doesn't it make sense? That's right. The reason we don't realize it is because we don't experience this glory and honor in our lives. Rather than dominating all things, we are living in domination, frustration, suffering, and threats. God's will for us is amazing status and glory, but our reality is miserable. The author of Hebrews acknowledges this in verse 8. “Now we have not yet seen all things obey me.” It is that we do not see all things obey us. For what? because of sin. We are being punished for our sins.

But, saints, we have hope. Because they see Jesus crowned with glory and honor. Verse 9. Verse 9 begins with “but”. This Jesus shows us what God's original purpose is. Like Jesus, we should be crowned with glory and honor. To this end, Jesus was temporarily lower than the angels. You suffered death. By the grace of God, I have tasted death for all people.

Saints, what are we? Although we are lowly, we originally had the status of kings over all things. It's like a beggar prince. Now, through Jesus, you will become the king who rules over all things and the world to come with glory and honor.

In this respect, we are brothers of Jesus.

2. As the vanguard of salvation leading to glory, Jesus is our brother.

Look at verse 10. “It is fitting that the Lord of their salvation, through suffering, should be perfected in order to bring many sons into glory for all things and by all.”

It is God who is because of all things, and from whom all things are made. There is something going on with this God. What is God's work? Look at verse 10. It is to bring many sons into glory. It is to save those who were created with the glory and honor over all things, but who are being punished for their sins because of their sins. It is God's will that many will be saved and enter the glory that God intended. God is in control of all things for this purpose. The Bible says that saving one soul is more precious than gaining the world.

Then how does God save many sons to glory? What is God's way of salvation? God does this through the Lord of Salvation, the Vanguard. Look again at verse 10. God does it through Jesus, the Lord of salvation. Verse 10 goes into more detail. That the Lord of our salvation saves us through suffering. Through the sufferings of the cross, Jesus made the vanguard of complete salvation. Jesus' suffering was worthy of God.

Jesus was crucified for our salvation. Jesus passed through death on the cross to lead us from misery, frustration, and curse to glory. It is that the way to save us through the suffering and death of Jesus was acceptable to God. Jesus is the vanguard of our salvation, the older brother who leads us from misery to glory.

3. We are proud brothers of Jesus. Verses 11-13

Jesus did God's work. According to God's will, he was made lower than the angels for a little while. You became human. And he suffered death. He became a sanctifier through death. And Jesus made us holy. Jesus is leading us to glory as the vanguard of our salvation.

Through the saving work of Jesus, we have been sanctified. Verse 11 tells us that we and Jesus are “all of one”. Jesus and we are brothers born of God the Father. Jesus is our brother and the vanguard of our salvation.

Dear saints, Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers. Verse 11. “Therefore, he is not ashamed to call them brothers.” Because we are sanctified by his work, and we too have been reborn to our Heavenly Father. Jesus is not ashamed of us on this basis. Luke 15 tells the story of the prodigal son. When the prodigal son repents and returns, the father is moved and moved. Far away, the father recognizes the prodigal son. He runs and hugs his neck and kisses him. My father puts on his best clothes, puts on a ring, and puts shoes on his feet. We have a feast to eat and have fun. Brothers and sisters, however, the older brother of the prodigal son was ashamed of his younger brother. In anger, he did not participate in the feast. He did not understand his father's heart. But Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers. Because he knows the heart of Heavenly Father.

Rather, Jesus is proud to call us brothers. He didn't just make us proud. He said it. Look at verse 12. “I will declare your name to my brethren, and I will praise you in the midst of the church.” To whom am I proclaiming your name? I am going to declare it to my brethren. He didn't do it alone where no one would listen. It was publicly bragging about it in large gatherings. He wants us to know that he is proud of us. He wants others to know that he is proud of us.

Jesus says that we are the children God has given to Him. Verse 13. “Look. Me and the children God has given me.” Jesus is calling us to be children of God. We boast that we are children of God.

Brothers and sisters, how should we live now?

1. I want you to know who you are. Who are you? Who are you in Christ? We are the brothers of Jesus. God is our Father. We were originally created to rule over all things. It was God's original plan to wear a crown of glory and honor. However, they fell into the temptations of the devil and sin and became beggar princes, but they are the brothers of Jesus who will receive glory and honor under the guidance of Jesus Brother, who is the vanguard of salvation.

2. Dedicate yourself to Heavenly Father and Jesus. Give yourself time. make an offering The God of all things will repay us with all things.

3. Please do not be ashamed of other brothers and boast like Jesus.
