Title: The Changing Church (Matthew 28:16-20)
Content The main text is the will of Jesus, and the essence of the will is to tell the disciples to go out into the world and make disciples. In verses 19-20 of today's text, there are four verbs in all, and they say, "Go, make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to keep them." Among them, 'make disciples' is the main verb. The rest of the words refer to methods for making disciples. Today, missiologists teach this word and call it 'The Lord's Great Commission' or 'Great Commission.' In these words, I would like to confirm the reason and vision of our church as we celebrate the 52nd anniversary of our birth.
1. You must go. The ultimate purpose of the church's existence is evangelism. In other words, the reason for the existence of the church is to evangelize people who do not believe in Jesus and make them disciples who believe and follow Jesus Christ. Even now we must go. If it is true that you met Christ and received salvation and experienced changes in your life, then you must go so that the same values can be shared in the midst of the world.
2. You must be baptized. The real lesson of the text is that if baptism is an outward expression of a profession of faith, it should not end with “Believe in Jesus” as we pass by when we preach. is to do it. What could be more joyous and thrilling in the world than seeing the people I evangelized, the people whom we prayed for and gave spiritual help to the children of God starting a new life?
3. Teach them to keep them. Teaching in this text does not mean academic teaching. It is obedience in life that presupposes the teachings here. The vision of our church is "a church that changes the world by walking with Jesus and becoming a disciple of Christ". Our ultimate goal is to change and heal the world. Can't you hear the people of the world? Please listen to their cry for help and to deliver the true news of salvation. I would like to present the poem 'A Little' by Elizabeth Nobel as a gift. Even with a little sugar/Food becomes sweeter/With a little soap/My body is clean/With a little sunlight/Suds grow/With a little bit of everything I use a pencil/I use up a book/A little Remaining candles/ Lights dancing in the sky/No matter how small, the lights are precious--
