Title: The Christian Family (Ephesians 06:1-4)
Contents Today is Mother's Day.
Today is the day when we are reminded of our Father's gratitude and resolve to make his heart happy by following the commandment, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right" (Ephesians 6:1).
May is often referred to as Family Month. May is probably the month of the family as it contains Children's Day, Mother's Day and Teacher's Day.
It should be a good season to honor the grace of parents who raise children well and grow brightly, give birth and raise them, and teachers who teach us and become good members of society.
After the creation of the heavens and the earth, God created men and women to personally officiate and establish a family. Therefore, it was God who instituted the first family system.
After doing this, God Himself said, “It was very good.”
therefore,
. Our home should be a happy and joyful family.
. It must be a house with love, faith, and hope.
. Since it is a God-given home, it must be a God-fearing house that has the Word of God, hymns, and prayers.
. In the evening, it should be a home where you can put away all your work and go back to miss your family and miss you.
. It should be a family where you can get seen off in the morning and go out to work.
This is the family God wants and wants.
But, what about our home today?
. Is there a family that has the Word, hymns, and prayers?
. Are you a family with love, faith and hope?
. Dad and Mom miss, and parents miss their children, miss and miss. Is it a place to look forward to dinner or a place to rest?
. Is it a place that gives you strength and confidence when heading to work in the morning?
When we say house, there is House and there is Home. A house can be bought with money, but a home will be made.
A family is a small society. Therefore, if the family is sick, the society will be sick.
When the family gets sick, all kinds of unfortunate things start from here. (Problem children, abandoned parents, all come from families.) Therefore, we Christians should take the lead in creating a bright and good society, a society that is beautiful and full of peace, and a world that is pleasing to God. To do this, we Christians must first
1. First,
. It should be a family that fears God well.
. We must create a home with the Word of God, hymns, and prayer.
. We need to make it a family where we trust each other and love each other.
. We need to nurture a home that is full of hope and misses and misses our family.
2. Second, focusing on today's text, we must become a family that stands on the Word.
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.”
Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and mother, that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
Deuteronomy 5:16 says, “Honor your father and mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live a long and blessed life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
1) Our God commands us to honor our parents and filial piety through the Bible.
Respect for parents is not something that can be done or not, it is “God’s commandment” and a command.
Out of the 10 commandments, 1-4 are commandments about God and the commandments of the heavenly world, while commandments 5-10 are about people and are commandments about humanity.
The first of these commandments is, “Honor your father and mother.”
This is what God commands, “it is right” and “it is right” as a saint and as a child.
2) If you honor your parents like this, the promises in the Bible today will be fulfilled.
① “You are doing well”. He said, “I will live long.”
② Deuteronomy 5:16 says, “You will be blessed.”
Obviously, we believe that if we honor our parents, “it will go well and be blessed” as the Bible promises. As Christians, first of all, promises are important, but we understand that it is our duty to honor and be filial to our parents.
At the end of the 16th century, during the reign of King Seonjo the Great, Songgang Jeongcheol (1536-1593)
He teaches not to regret filial piety after the death of his parents by saying, “Do your best to serve your parents while they are alive. In Asia and Africa, there is a custom of ancestral rites, where ancestors are worshiped. Even after death, the filial piety that he failed to fulfill to his parents during his lifetime is to be filial to his parents by setting up an honorable sacrifice and offering a ritual. The more yangban people follow the law, the more grand ceremonies are observed, and the more they see it as a family tradition. Zhuzi, a famous Confucian scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty of China, taught that rituals should be held for up to four generations. I know how to throw it away. Therefore, no matter how noble the rites are, it is an ostentatious and ostentatious expression that will not be passed on to the deceased, no matter how filial he is.
Also, in 1 Corinthians 10:20, it says, “When Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons.”
Therefore, in Christianity, sacrificing is offered as a memorial service, not for the soul of the deceased, but with the grace of promising the faith of the bereaved and a harmonious life.
This is a story about a deacon from the southwestern church in Seoul who was filial to his parents and made them happy when he was young. The butler Seo and his wife always take their parents to their house, but especially on New Year's Day and full moon, they prepared a special meal (as much as the cost of sacking), set a table, and treated them with utmost respect. It was like that inside and outside the butler Seo. ‘Father, mother, we will not be in trouble when we die. Instead, while he is alive, I will do as much as I can.” He said, ‘Come or come?’ and they like it.
At one time, there was an order of what parents like to do at the TV Family Recreation Center. The order of your favorite foods is introduced. Bulgogi, set meal, hot pot, bossam, etc. What was the top place? The food that took the top spot in the country was seafood japtang. It is a seafood soup with a cool soup. Also, buying clothes, serving delicious food, giving visitors a tour, and taking a tour, which one do you like the most? Taking cash is the best.
I also visit my father once or twice a month. Also, there is one pastor's father who is over 80 years old. I visit him too, and he treats me to food and gives me a tour, but he likes it the most because he gives me cash.
If you honor your parents like this, you will be well and blessed.
Also, in Proverbs, if you listen carefully to your parents and do not depart from their laws, this is a beautiful crown on your head and a golden chain around your neck (True 1:8,9).
3) But what happens if you fail to honor your parents or be filial?
Today's Bible verse 3 says that if you honor your parents well, it will go well with you and you will live a long life.
What's the opposite of good - it's not. It's just that things aren't going well.
Please remember this.
Also, the opposite of longevity is - early death.
A good example is Eli's two sons. Eli's two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, did not listen to their father. was the bad guy. At that time, they said that there would be no old people in the family (2:31), so they all died young.
God says
If you don't, you die early. If you want to die quickly, make it invalid. If things don't go well and you don't like good luck, don't be filial.
Mencius pointed out five filial piety in the world.
1. The first is filial piety to be lazy and not take good care of one's parents.
2. The second filial piety is not taking care of parents because they like to drink and play Go.
3. It was said that disrespecting one's parents is the third disrespect.
4. Disloyalty is to indulge in the desire to hear with the ears and see with the eyes, thereby bringing disgrace to the parents.
5. It is the fifth filial piety to worry about parents by arguing with others.
In ancient China, there was a system called the Five Penalties (five punishments) as a punishment system. The five types are Muk (墨), Ui (), Bi (), Gung (宮), and Daebyeok (大).

Righteousness is to cut off the nose,
The rain - cut off the feet,
Gung is to make people incapacitated,
The great wall is the death penalty.
The Bible says that anyone who is disobedient to their parents is to be put to death.
Die quickly, and if it does not go well, be filial. God has told you through the Bible to honor your mother and listen to your father's instruction.
4) This is verse 4. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.”
1) Parents treat their children with emotions and tell them not to touch them.
There are many times when I try to do my own will with my children according to their feelings. don't do that,
2) But bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord, teach them in the way they should go, and when they grow old they will not depart from them (Proverbs 22:6).
The story of St. Augustine's mother, Motica, is so famous.
When Augustine was young, ideologically, he fell in love with the heresies of Manichaeism and the philosophies of Praston.
Monica prayed for such a son. Rather than beating, I had faith to show. Rather than beating, I cried and prayed. Augustine kept it in his heart, then repented and became Saint Augustine.
There is a story like this in Jewish legend.
Once, God sent the angel Gabriel into the world to bring him the three most beautiful things in the world.
The angel went around the world and chose the three things he felt were the most beautiful.
1. First, the beautifully bloomed flowers,
2. Second, the laughter of a young baby,
3. Third, it was motherly love. With these three things, Gabriel went back to heaven, but it took a very long time to get there. So, when he stood before God, the flower had already withered and became ugly, and the baby grew up to be less beautiful, but the love of a mother was still beautiful.
I think the most beautiful, sublime, and most meaningful words in the world are the words of “mother” mother.
When I was young, I called her [Ama]. He has passed away now, but when I think of my mother, even when I was a child or an adult, I bow my head, my heart warms, and my eyes get hot.
I hope that you will become good parents and that your children will have a filial May, prosper, blessed, and blessed with a long life, and a home full of hope, hope and joy.
