Title: The Church God Bought with His Blood
Contents
In the old covenant, the sacrifice for sins according to the law was the blood of the flesh. It is written, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make an atonement for your lives by sprinkling it on the altar; for the life is in the blood, and the blood makes atonement” (Leviticus 17:11). It is like the words of
In the above evidence, the “one body” in which “God did not desire sacrifices and offerings, but he prepared a body for me” is not a fleshly body from David's lineage. There is a physical body as well as a spiritual body. Therefore, the above “one body” does not refer to a physical body, but to a spiritual body. It is the same as the words of the evidence that is written, “It is sown in a natural body, and it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body” (1 Corinthians 15:44).
The physical body is the body that can be seen with the physical eye, and the spiritual body is the body that can be seen with the spiritual eye. Jesus Christ came at the same time in the body of the Son of Man in the flesh of the blood of David, and in the body of the Son of God in the spiritual body, becoming the mediator between man and God. Therefore, he is the Son of Man according to the flesh, but the Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness. It is written, “As for this Son, who was born of the line of David according to the flesh, and was declared the Son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:3-4). It's like evidence.
The spiritual body of Christ is the body of God. This is the same as the written testimony, "...the head of Christ is God" (1 Corinthians 11:3). Therefore, Christ said, "I and the Father are one..." (John 10:30), and Jesus said, "Philip, I have been with you for so long, and you do not know me? Do you say “show the Father?” (John 14:9).
In other words, the blood of Christ is the blood of God. That's why the Bible testifies that "...God hath caused the church, which he bought with his own blood, to be attacked" (Acts 20:28). The life of the Father and the life of the Son are one. It is like the evidence that He said, "As the Father has life in Himself, so He also gave life to the Son so that he may have it in Him" (John 5:26).
Concerning the flesh and blood of the spiritual body, Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life. and I will raise him up on the last day. My flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. The living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father. Just as he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not as the ancestors ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever. These words were spoken by Jesus while he was teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. They said to him, “These words are difficult. Who can hear them?” Jesus said, knowing that his disciples were babbling about these words, and said to him, “Do these words become a stumbling block to you? Then what will you do if you see the Son of Man ascending to the place where he was before? It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:53-63).
The order of Melchizedek consists of bread and wine. This bread is the flesh of Christ, and this wine is the blood of Christ. It is the same as the words of the testimony, as it was written, "The cup of blessing that we bless is not partakers of the blood of Christ, and the bread we break is not partakers of the body of Christ" (1 Corinthians 10:16).
Therefore, if you know Christ only in the flesh, you cannot become one with Christ. It is the same as the words of the evidence that it is written, “Therefore, from now on we know no man according to the flesh, though we have known Christ according to the flesh, but from now on we do not know him in this way” (2 Corinthians 5:16). Therefore, He testified, “He that is united with the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17).
Regarding the order of Aaron and the order of Melchizedek, the Bible says, “If the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies by purifying the flesh, how much more is Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God. How can the blood of God cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:13-14).
Therefore, the blood of Christ offered to God is the blood of God received from God. God received from his Son again the precious blood in which his love was fulfilled through the blood of Christ in the world, and with the price he bought the eternal house, the church, in which he and many of his children will live together. Therefore, the church is the body of Christ, that is, the body of God. Amen, thank you Lord.
