Title [4.3] The Church I Want to See
The church you want to see
(Acts 11:19-30, 13:1-3)
What was the appearance of the church in Antioch that was built in this way, so what is our church trying to benchmark? First, the church in Antioch was a church with the Lord's hands. Among the articles written in newspapers, I read that in North Korea, once you hold the hand of Chairman Kim Jong-il, that person is given a huge benefit that can feed him for the rest of his life. Chairman Kim Jong-il's hands are never omnipotent or infinite. It's just a human hand. But what about the hand of our Lord? Please believe that the hand of our Lord is strong and the hand of blessing. The Antioch Church is a church where these “hands of the Lord” were together. The hand of the Lord signifies the power of the Holy Spirit. In other words, the church in Antioch is a church with the Holy Spirit. I hope that the image of a church where the Holy Spirit is with us is in our midst.
Second, the church in Antioch was a church that was united in the Lord. In Acts 13:1, the members of the church in Antioch are listed. If you look closely at the members, they ranged from nobles to black slaves, and their ages were different. The church in Antioch was a church where there were no differences between generations, material differences, or races, from the old to the little ones, from the lowly to the high. I hope that the image of a church that embraces and embraces each other with the love of the Lord can be found among us.
Third, the church in Antioch was a church that shared the love of the Lord. The Antioch Church shared the Lord's love if possible. When there was a famine, they donated money for relief, and they sent God's people to various places as missionaries to sow the seeds of the gospel. I hope that this kind of sharing the love we receive from God will fill our church as well.
In the name of the Lord, I pray that our Sungmin Church will become a church where the hands of the Lord are with us, become one in the Lord, and share the Lord's love, and become a church that can be praised as a true Christian by non-believers.
