Title: The Church of the Holy Spirit
Contents
What is the church like, who is it for, and what does it do? This question is the fundamental problem of our believers. First of all, when we talk about the ‘original form’ of the church, we are always putting forward the early church. The early church means a living church and a church full of vitality. Then, we want to receive grace by examining what kind of church is alive and what kind of church the Holy Spirit works.
First, it is a learning church (verse 42).
Second, it is a church that strives to gather in the temple (verse 46).
The early church members made every effort to gather together in the temple with one heart every day. Just as firewood shows its fire power when it is gathered, history appears and there is power when it is gathered in the temple. The first president, Syngman Rhee, said in his first speech, “If we unite, we live, and if we disperse, we die.” Like the saints of the early church, we must strive to become a church that has vitality and the Holy Spirit works.
Third, it is a church that prays fervently (verse 46).
A person who prays a lot can handle great things and win with bold faith. Bartimaeus squeezed his chest and cried out in longing for the Lord. He became a man of miracles because he seized the opportunity well, did not miss it, and sang it passionately, thinking it was the last chance of his life. Those who create miracles should pray with fervent repetition and cry. There are bound to be many obstacles in the field of blessing (Mark 10:48), and those who are dedicated may have the power of criticism. Many rebuked Bartimaeus and told him to be quiet, but he did not stop in the test. Like the saints of the early church, like Bartimaeus, you must be a person who prays fervently, going forward without stopping.
Fourth, it is a church overflowing with love (verse 46).
The early church members sold their property and possessions, shared it, broke bread, and ate among themselves. There should be a lot of love in the church. People feel rewarded when they love and feel the meaning and joy of life. To love and live is to live a wonderful life. We believe that we will become a vibrant church and a church where the Holy Spirit works by imitating the life of sharing and overflowing love of the early church members.
