Title: The Consummation of Salvation?
Contents
Our Lord Jesus is waiting until now to come into this world in the same flesh as us according to God's will, to perpetuate all people under the world from sin by the blood of his death, and to work out salvation with all brothers and sisters who believe in this gospel .
Therefore, it is written, “He said, ‘I heard you in the time of grace, and I helped you in the day of salvation.’ Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). This is right now.
As the testimony of the Word shows, grace and salvation are distinct. The atonement was accomplished by our Lord Jesus alone, with no one with us by the grace of God, but salvation is accomplished together with all the brothers and sisters who believe in the gospel of grace. That is why He said, “It was full of grace and truth.” He also said, “Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness goes down from heaven” (Psalm 85:11).
Therefore, redemption and salvation are different. Redemption refers only to the forgiveness of sins. It is written, “In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7), and “in him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1). :14) It is the same thing as God. Redemption, that is, the forgiveness of sins, was accomplished by Christ Jesus alone, but salvation is a gift of God that He accomplishes with all who believe in it.
Judging from this, the atonement is the death that only Jesus died, and salvation is the death that Jesus and I also die as the substance of our faith. To say that we are saved only through redemption, that is, the forgiveness of sins, is like knowing that the forgiveness of ten thousand talents is the end.
Those who knew that the forgiveness of sins had been forgiven all the people who rejoiced and boasted, as the Lord said in parables, “The servant went out and found a copper tube that owed me a hundred denarii, and grabbed him by the neck and said, “Repay the debt.” “Give me, I will pay you back.” But he did not allow it, so he went and locked him in prison to pay off his debt. When the officers saw it, they were very upset and went to the master and told him all about it. So the master called him and said, “You evil servant, you begged me, so I will He forgave all the debt, but shouldn't you have pity on your brother-in-law, just as I have compassion on you?" The master got angry and gave him to the prisoners so that he could pay all the debt." (Matthew 18:28-34) something like
The purpose of this parable is to say, “Shouldn’t you also have pity on your brother-in-law, just as I have compassion on you?” This is God's “will” to become one with Christ and achieve salvation. If you do not know this truth, you will become a fruitless autumn tree and a “very embarrassed” person.
The Lord fulfilled the atonement for the sins of the whole world with his own blood according to the will of God, so everyone who believes in this love according to this love Christ Jesus, who bore the smallest fruit of a hundred denarii, bearing the exceedingly great fruit of the kingdom of God. It is the love of God that we want to inherit together.
Therefore, in the Bible it is written, “I, John, your brother and a sharer in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus...” (Rev 1:9), and “if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and with Christ.” And it was testified that we must also suffer with him so that we may be glorified with him” (Romans 8:17) and also, “Therefore, my beloved, not only in my presence but even more now in my absence, always obey with fear and trembling. Work out your salvation” (Philippians 2:12).
So, concerning the atonement of Christ Jesus, which was accomplished alone, and the work of salvation together with all the brothers and sisters who believed in it, the Bible says, “I saw a white horse, and its rider had a bow, and he received a crown, and went out conquering and overcoming.” (Rev 6:2) is evidenced.
As the prophecy prophesied, “He overcame and was trying to overcome,” he has already overcome the world and has made atonement for himself with the blood of his flesh. You will fulfill all of your love, finish it, and fill it out. Amen, this is the “will” of God for us in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, salvation does not end in Jesus, but ends together with the forgiveness of sins and the fulfillment of that love in us who believe in it. It is written, “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:12).
Therefore, only those who have and keep the new commandment in the love that loved us can dwell together in the kingdom of the Son of love. It is the same as it is written, “We know that we have passed from death into life because we love our brother; but he who does not love remains in death” (1 John 3:14).
Therefore, the completion of salvation is here. “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you” (John 13:34), and also, “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.” “He who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him” (John 14:21). is on.
The God who made us share with His Son Jesus Christ in this great salvation is truly faithful. Therefore, the church, the body of Christ, with the remnant sufferings, is the glorious church that does not belong to the world but comes down from heaven, the bride of the Lamb. Thank you Lord.
