Saul's Conversion
(Acts 9:10-19)
① You must be born again. (Conversion is different from repentance.)
(…) The most important change in this world is human change, especially my change. This is called conversion, and sometimes it is called being born again. Saul was a man of the same status as Nicodemus. He was a respected rabbi. He studied under the prestigious Gamaliel at that time. He was a Pharisee and a privileged man with Roman citizenship. He was on the way to Damascus with a permit to arrest all those who believed in Jesus. God shone a bright light on him. I fell to the ground, and I heard a startling voice. This is the scene where God calls him. We are converted when God rules our hearts. will be reborn. You will focus on God.
② How are you converted?
(…) Today’s scene that changes Saul tells us three ways to be born again. ㉠Conversion is realizing that I am a sinner before God. (…) Those who come before the Lord and realize that they are sinners can receive the grace of being born again. ㉡The way to be born again is to repent of the sins you have committed. I must not rationalize or hide my sins. When you realize your mistake, you must immediately repent and confess. ㉢We must believe and receive Jesus. It means choosing Jesus as the Lord of your heart. The life of being born again is to choose Jesus as the master of my life and to live according to the Lord's advice in everything.
③ What is the evidence of being born again?
(…) What is the evidence of being born again? ㉠The priorities of life change. The kingdom of God and His righteousness are put above all else. We do not follow the desires of the flesh, but seek eternal life according to the desires of the Spirit. ㉡ If you are born again, you lose the opportunity to commit sins. They do not commit sins because they are too tired to repent of the past and learn a new life. Even if you fall, you get up immediately. ㉢] Get new motivation for life. It is love. Love of God and love of neighbor. Being born again is a mysterious event that cannot be explained by itself. But the evidence is clear. The history of Christianity is written by those who have been born again. Amen.
