◎Genesis 1:26 ◎Explanation on Genesis (20)-God's counsel
Music lovers listen to a symphony and wait for its climax to reach its climax. The person who plays the music or the person who composes it, puts all of their energy and passion at its peak, and creates the greatest music.
There was also a climax when God created the heavens and the earth. There was a part that achieved the culmination of creation, which was created by pouring out all of God's wisdom, power, and divinity. It is the creation of man. We humans are the culmination and culmination of God's creation. Each of us is the culmination of God's creation. We are the work that God created with all his strength, power, and wisdom. Therefore, we should not be satisfied with only the problem of eating and living in our day to day life. We are too precious to live like that. We need to go back to the way God first created us.
The Bible tells us three special things about God's creation of man.
First, unlike in the creation of other creatures, God consulted before creating man.
The second is that God created man in the image of God.
Third, God has made man rule over all creation.
Today, in this time, we would like to take a look at the first “counsel of God” among the three characteristics.
It is indeed a peculiar fact. This is a surprising fact. It means that when God created man, he discussed this issue with each other ahead of time. It means that there was discussion with each other in God. This is verse 26.
God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let him have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over all that creeps on the earth."
what do you mean? Before the creation of man, God discusses whether we should do this or that to create man. Who the hell are you talking to? The people of Israel who are now listening to the Genesis sermon from Moses in the wilderness may hear God's word as strange as it is in this part. Because I heard a sermon from Moses saying that God is clearly “one,” but strangely, in Genesis 1:26, by using the expression 'we' rather than 'me', we hear that there is someone other than the 'one God' God. . Therefore, their concept and the expression ‘we’ must have been in direct conflict with each other. Since I was young, I have been told that “There is only one God”, but who are we talking about here? The mystery of this Trinity is still beyond our reach by human reason. However, the first-person plural word ‘us’ in the text makes us realize that God is clearly not one.
What is Jesus talking about in the Gospel of John? It is said that there was a counsel of the Triune God before the creation of man. There was a discussion in advance between the Holy Triune God, as to why He created man and who will be held accountable when they sin.
What is the purpose of God's creation of man? To invite us to the eternal glory of God, so that we may be together in it forever. We were not created simply to eat, eat, raise our children, and do well in our work life. The purpose of God's creation of man is to invite us to God's holy glory, to taste, to share, and to dwell in it.
The Bible doesn't tell us this or that in every aspect in general. However, we can imagine a lot of it through the small part, but the written part. Through the fact that God consulted with each other when creating man, we can speculate that God must have discussed not only this but also the part of man's redemption. Ex) Until Jesus was sent to this earth.
Each of us is so precious. It wasn't just a rough creation, but the fact that there was a counsel from the noble and exalted Trinity of God. How thrilling is this? Therefore, when we think of others and when we think of ourselves, we must realize that God has a deep will and plan.
This is the conclusion of today's sermon.
Preacher! Then what about the child born abnormally on this earth? There are some students who will ask, but you should remember that the child also has a special purpose that God desires. And we should remember that the child was also included in the counsel of God.
We are people created by the counsel of God. What should we do when we do?
