Title: The Covenant of Peace
Content Title: Covenant of Peace
Bible: Ezekiel 34:25-31
In “I will bless them”, the word ‘I’ refers to God and ‘they’ refers to the remnant of the captivity. Those left behind can be said to be stumps. When Babylon invaded Judah, all who resisted were killed and all who surrendered were taken captive. The Israelites suffered hardships during their 70 years of captivity. However, there were those who did not die and survived the difficult life of slavery. God has promised many blessings to the remnant, but let's consider what kind of blessing He has promised based on the text.
First: He gives you the blessing of peace.
“I will bless them, and I will bless all the places around my mountain; I will bring the rain in its season, and the blessed monsoon. “Past!” (verses 26, 27) Those who heard the word of God shouted by the prophet Ezekiel were taken into captivity and suffered all sorts of hardships and were unable to die. The above verse means that God will restore the nation of Israel by using the remnant who remain strong in the faith and make seedlings, and the restored nation will become a very peaceful nation. It means that you will bring peace to a nation where you can live and sleep with peace of mind in Israel, who are restored through the remnant.
Second: He gives the blessing of freedom.
“After I break the neck of their yoke and deliver them from the hand of those who made them slaves, they will know that I am the Lord” (verse 27). This is a message that God will give you freedom from this miserable life of slavery. Freedom from the Babylonian captivity for 70 years was not received for any merit or reward. It is the freedom that God has given as a blessing to those who remain in the place of faith to the end despite the hardships. And on the other hand, he promises to give him freedom from poverty, saying that when he returns to the land of Canaan and farms, he will not be humiliated by his poverty or weep in poverty because of his abundance.
Third: God bless you with walking.
“They shall know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Sovereign Lord” (verse 30). that it is not. It means that they are put into the furnace of suffering now, refined and trained. Obviously, it means that the Gentiles will know that God is with the people of Israel. Even though they seem to have abandoned the Israelites, they are God's sheep, and God is their shepherd. Sheep are at their happiest when they are with their shepherd. This is the blessing of God's presence.
