Title: The Cross of Salvation (Galatians 6:14)
[Galatians 6:14]
[14] ♠But I have nothing to boast about except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
There is a word called arm bulging. The original meaning refers to a person who was born after eight months without completing the full month. Also called Palsakdong, it was a word used to refer to someone who lacked something.
In general, a person who boasts the following three things is called Palbulchul.
The first is a person who says that he is handsome, the second is a person who boasts of his wife, and the third is a person who boasts of his children. However, there are some people who call a person who lives under the pressure of his wife called Palbulchul. But I don't think so. Because if that happens, all of us will be out of luck.
In a short time this morning, I would like to share two facts that we must know about the cross in order to become mature believers.
First, the Apostle Paul experiences and repeats it every day, but the fact that we can pass without hesitation is the fact that there were three things that were crucified.
It was not just Jesus Christ Himself who was crucified. When we think of the cross, it is easy to think only of Jesus Christ crucified on the cross, but in verse 14 we read, “But I have nothing to boast about except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I And so it is with the world.' In other words, although Jesus Christ was crucified, there are two more things that were crucified at the same time. One of them is that the world has been crucified to me, and the other is that I have been crucified to the world. The world in verse 14 refers to everything that opposes God. Being crucified means that the world has lost its strength, has become weak, has become nothing, it has become very small.
Today we live in a world where lust is at its peak. However, the word of God is that we live in a world where we do not want to see or hear even if we do not want to see it, but the world that opposes God and makes us sin was crucified with the cross of Jesus Christ. It means that Satan and the world's lusts have already been nailed together.
The second thing we need to know about the cross is that we have to nail it from now on.
Let me close the word. Our beloved saints! The Apostle Paul confesses through the text that he has nothing to boast about for the rest of his life except the cross of Christ. Do you and I live a life that boasts of our cross every day? If we don't boast about the cross and at some point our lips are brimming with pride, our faith has changed a lot. If we are proud of our years of service and the depth of our faith, if we are proud of all of our origins, experiences, and abilities, then we are living as believers and beings who lack something. It is not going beyond the faith of a young child.
Now, 18 years later, if our church is focusing on the size, fruit, and active ministry of the church, and if that is what we are proud of, if we are proud of what we have, we will still be a proud church with faith far from the Lord. is. On the surface, they look like children bearing good fruit who keep saving souls with everything, but maybe as many as the number of members of our church who constantly nail the hands of the true parent, the Lord Jesus Christ, nail the hands of Jesus Christ on the cross. Daejeon could be one of the most disobedient churches. In Galatians 6:17, the apostle Paul confesses that he has the marks of Jesus Christ. The people of the world and the Jews boast of being circumcised and boasting about what they have, but the Apostle Paul thought about the cross of Christ and lived on the cross, the suffering he suffered, the way of the cross, and all the difficulties he experienced. We confess that we are the marks of Christ.
