The crucified Lord (John 19:23-34)
Dear saints, The week before Easter Sunday is celebrated as Holy Week. During this Holy Week, we abstain from secular entertainment, read the Bible, pray, meditate deeply on the sufferings of the Lord, and spend reverently. I pray that this year's Holy Week will be a week full of spiritual grace as you deeply meditate on the crucified Lord. This morning, I want to share my grace while thinking about “Lord crucified”.
1. The Suffering of the Lord
2. Why the Lord suffered
Why did Jesus suffer on the cross? It was a curse from God that Jesus was crucified. Deuteronomy 21:23 Cursed of God is everyone who hangs on a tree. Also, taking off your clothes was a curse from God. God clothed Adam and took off the clothes of Jesus on the cross. Adam received the grace of God, and Christ who was crucified was cursed by God. Then why was the Lord so cursed? Jesus came as the atoning lamb. That is why Jesus bore all our sins and took all our curses on the cross instead. Dear all! Because He loved me, He bore all my sins, took the curse I deserved, and died on the cross to save me. I pray that you will become saints who will never forget this grace.
