Title: The Cup of Jesus

Content Title: The Cup of Jesus

Bible: Matthew 20:17-28

Today's Sunday, I would like to deliver a message under the title of the Cup of Jesus in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for martyrdom for the nation and nation.

First, people who want to be better than others

Regardless of age or gender, humans have a desire for manifestation. The desire to look a little better than others. This includes the desire to be treated a little better than others. Of course, this desire for manifestation is not all bad. Because there are some people who work harder, more diligently, and live more conscientiously because of that desire. However, in most cases, this need for manifestation appears in a negative form.

Even the disciples of Jesus could not control this desire for revelation and even argued in front of Jesus. The words Jesus gave at that time are today's words.

Second, Jesus' answer

Jesus asked the disciple who wanted to put his position above others, “Can you drink the cup I drink?” Then the disciple answered, “Of course it is.” Then Jesus said, “It is because you do not know the contents of the cup I will drink.” Then, what is the cup of Jesus that Jesus spoke of? Knowing the identity of this cup is the real meaning.

Third cup of Jesus

The cup of Jesus has many complex meanings in one cup. It is not the preacher's reasoning, but a fact that is testified throughout the Bible.

1) The cup of Jesus is the 'cup of humility'.

It was also infinitely low. The Gospels of Philippians and John testify that Jesus was one with God. Nevertheless, he humbled himself in our form.

2) The cup of Jesus is the 'cup of love'.

Being in love is truly difficult. There are far more difficulties in love than good things. The essence of love is not to think centered on me, but to think centered on the object.

3) The cup of Jesus is the 'cup of sharing'.

Jesus shared the message and method of salvation for us free of charge. He shared the hope of heaven and personally shared the path of reconciliation that leads to God. To share is to give up.

4) The cup of Jesus is the 'cup of suffering'.

Jesus willingly took the cup of suffering in order to make God's love known to all nations and to provide mankind with the opportunity of true life. He wanted to avoid the cup of suffering to realize God's will, but he walked the path of obedience, entrusting it to God's will. All.

5) The cup of Jesus is the 'cup of ultimate victory'.

Jesus did not defend himself or reveal himself for a momentary victory. Jesus was not concerned with things like defeat on the cross, but rather about the ultimate victory that would be met by his death on the cross.

Fourth, let's make the cup of Jesus our cup.

As I pointed out in the head of the Word, today's Christians seem to be focusing only on the right or left side of Jesus because of the changing social environment and the influence of the times. They are enslaved by science and technology to increase human convenience, preferring only high and comfortable seats. The cup of Jesus is the cup of humility, the cup of love, the cup of sharing, the cup of suffering, and the cup of ultimate victory. We should be able to drink this cup too. I hope you enjoy it. To these people, Jesus is said to be the greatest. We all wish to become such saints. Dear saints, Do you really want to be better than others? I pray in the name of the Lord that you will be willing to accept the cup of Jesus as my cup. Amen
