36. The daughter of Mordecai (8:1-2)
The fact that a great reversal took place with Haman's execution and substantial measures to solidify the status of the Jews are recorded.
Among them, Haman's property was confiscated and given to Esther, and Haman's position was inherited through Mordecai.
The Bible teaches that the wealth of the unrighteous will eventually belong to the righteous.
1. Haman's house is given to Esther (v. 1)
* Originally, the rebel's property was to be given to the king, but Ahasuerus gave Esther all the property of Haman's house (including real estate, gardens, and attached servants). = It teaches that with Haman's death, all his authority disappeared like a bubble.
* This is seen as a measure taken to comfort Esther's physical and mental suffering, who was once in trouble. Even if you build it for yourself, in the end, it is of no use.
(Ecclesiasts 2:18-19) “I have done all that I have toileted under the sun, for I will pass it on to the one who will succeed me. He will manage them all, and this is also in vain.”
(Psalm 39:6) “Truly, each one walks like a shadow, and dwells on vain things, and accumulates wealth, but does not know who will take it.”
2. Esther recommends Mordecai (v. 1b)
* When Haman was executed, Esther no longer had to hide her nationality and kinship with Mordecai./ Because the plan to annihilate the Jews remains to be withdrawn.
* For Esther, Mordecai was like a stepfather, and he recommended him to King Ahasuerus instead of his father.
(Esther 2:7) “His uncle’s daughter Hadassa, Esther, had no parents, but was a beautiful and beautiful virgin, and after her parents died, Mordecai raised her like her own daughter.”
3. Mordecai gained authority (v. 2)
* King Ahasuerus appoints Mordecai, who became Haman, in his place. This is because he found out that he had saved his life by discovering the treason case (Esther 2:21-23, 6:1-3) and that he was the cousin of Queen Esther. / The saints should not envy the powers or wealth of the world, but take care of their neighbors whenever they have the opportunity.
(Deuteronomy 15:10) “You must always give to him, and when you give, do not be greedy, so that the Lord your God will bless you in all that you do and in all that you do.
