Mark 16
1. After the sabbath passed, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went and bought spices to anoint Jesus.
2. On the first day after the Sabbath, very early, at sunrise, he went to the tomb.
3. They said to one another, “Who will roll a stone for us from the door of the tomb?”
4. When he lifted his eyes, he saw that the stone had already been rolled away, and it was very large.
5. When he entered the tomb, he was amazed to see a young man in a white robe sitting on the right hand side.
6. The young man said to him, "Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen, and he is not here. Behold, this is the place where you put him."
7. Go and say to his disciples and Peter, “Jesus is going before you into Galilee, and there you will see him, as he told you before.”
8. The women came out of the tomb, trembling and frightened, and said nothing to anyone in fear.
9. [Jesus rose from the dead in the early morning on the first day after the Sabbath, and first appeared to Mary Magdalene, who had cast out seven demons.
10. Mary went and reported this while those who were with Jesus were weeping and mourning.
11. When they heard that Jesus had risen and had been seen by Mary, they did not believe.
12. After that, as two of them went on foot into the country, Jesus appeared to them in a different form.
13. Two went and told the rest of the disciples, but they did not believe either.
14. Afterward, while the eleven were eating, Jesus appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardened heart, because they did not believe the words of those who saw him alive.
15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17. These signs will follow those who believe, in my name they will cast out demons, and they will speak with new tongues.
18. They will pick up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick and they will recover.
19. After the Lord Jesus had finished speaking, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
20. As the disciples went out and preached throughout, the Lord was at work with them, and by the signs that followed, he testified to the word.]
