Title: The Duality of God

Deuteronomy 6:10-13 The duality of God
However, there are also verses in the Bible that confuse us. “Do not turn to the left or to the right” (Proverbs 4:27, Joshua 23:6). At this time, we sometimes complain to God like this. “No, the same God sometimes said, ‘Do it hot or cold.
Of course, these double verses must be carefully examined before and after the context and grasp the will of God well. Otherwise, faith may be confused due to double verses, and furthermore, God may be misunderstood as a double God and become an obstacle to living a religious life. The aforementioned phrase ‘Do not lean to the left or right’ means not to lean toward this or that evil, and the phrase ‘Be cold or hot’ is to make the right decision in faith, not to have two different intentions. However, if these verses are not properly understood, they may be misunderstood as two different and irrational verses.
In particular, many people ask this question. “No, God made the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve, so why do they put Satan in there and give them medicine? If you want to give a blessing, will you give it all? Why are you using such vile means? Isn't God a bad God?” Of course, we do not fully know about God making the tree of knowledge and placing Satan in the Garden of Eden, but we try to explain and understand God's good will from various angles. However, sometimes these double events or phrases cannot be properly digested, leading to confusion in the life of faith.
The same is true of prayer. Sometimes he says, “Call to me in a loud voice.” Other times he says, “Go into your closet and pray quietly.” Other times you say, “Can’t you stay awake and pray for an hour?” It is also said that “God knows everything without praying”. Because of these two different and double words of God, discussions and quarrels arise among people, differing opinions, and sometimes even quarrels.
In my family, my father doesn't pray much. I wondered why, because my father was impressed with the phrase, “God knows everything without prayer.” And my father hates loud prayers. Because my father received grace from the words, “Go into your closet and pray quietly.” Therefore, when I see my father praying, very solemnly, very quietly, very holy, but within a minute, I say, “Amen!” and get up.
However, me and my mother always go to live prayer, go to the prayer center, and go to all-night worship services, crying out and praying well. This is because I have experienced countless times that when I cry out and pray like that, God's answer comes quickly and the frustration and stress of my heart are relieved. And I pray for a very long time because I have experienced many times that things go awry, problems arise, and things that aren't fun if I don't pray.
Then my mother would say, “If you don’t know, just sit still.” And I keep praying like that. Then my father would say, “Is God deaf!” and you go outside. Then my mother said, “Oh, God, you don’t know. You see. May we receive the spirit of our inspirational prayer.” And with a sad expression on his face, he continues to pray. Due to this duality of prayer, it is quite difficult to hold family worship together when family members have different opinions.
In our family, we have two home worship services. One is a very short, holy worship service, and one is a very long, slightly noisy worship service. As you may have guessed, when we worship with my father, we sing only one hymn, and the prayer never lasts longer than 3 minutes, and the service ends immediately. However, when I and my mother worship together, we sometimes sing hymns for 30 minutes, sometimes pray for two hours, and worship for a very long time.
However, because of these double words on prayer, there are cases where family members understand each other and solve the problem of God's duality even when there are discussions and quarrels. Once, my father had a very pressing problem. Then my father asks me and my mother to do this. “Hey, you have such a big problem, so go to the all-night service and pray hard.”
Then my mother smiles to herself and replies: “No, God would know everything without praying! And what about the all-night service? Can't you just go into the closet and sleep quietly before coming out?" Of course, my mother, who says this, sometimes prays alone and very quietly in meditation. Through this, if you know how to pray with outcry and how to pray quietly through meditation, the problem of duality in prayer will be solved.
However, if you only pray out loud and do not know how to pray through meditation, or if you only pray through meditation and do not know how to pray out loud, sometimes there is a misunderstanding. Moreover, if only the phrase “God knows everything without prayer” is received and the phrase “Pray without ceasing” does not receive grace, so the person who lives without giving up on prayer at all becomes a trap because of God’s duality with respect to prayer. All.
The same is true of today's text. According to the Bible, “If anyone does not want to work, let him not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Let's take a closer look at the contents of that unearned income. First, cities that you did not build, houses full of beautiful things that you did not fill, wells you did not dig, vineyards and wells you did not plant. To get these things without working, isn't this unearned income? Isn't this the opposite of the saying, "If anyone does not want to work, let him not eat."
Even in the old days and these days, there are often people who are angry because of this problem. “No, I work so hard from morning to night to die like this, but the income is so low, and that person worked every day and played for only one hour, so why does he earn so much? How can you live in such an unfair world?” It's clearly unfair, especially when you compare a lawyer who earns $300 an hour to a person who earns $8 an hour on income alone.
The division between the rich and the poor in this way creates a bourgeois capitalist class, a proletarian working class, and furthermore, “Ah, what an unfair world upside down!” Isn't it communism that came about? Of course, there are people who understand this correctly. “Ah, that lawyer did mental labor, and this person did simple physical labor. and mental work
Society recognizes and treats what you do! And that lawyer is now looking for the price of studying hard that others don't want to do because he was young!” If you understand this way, it is a positive way of thinking, and at least your income is not a test.
But if you don't understand this properly, it's a significant test. Furthermore, if you do not understand these things, you will become jealous of people who are living well, and you will not be able to grow properly as a proper Christian. Also, what about this case? There is a young man whose parents have a lot of money, so the young man is living very well without much effort.
At this time, “Aha, the Bible says, ‘House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord’” (Proverbs 19:14). It's good to understand, "No, that young man didn't work and made an unearned income! My stomach hurts!” If you think, you are living unhappy with yourself. If this happens, the have-nots will always have to look at those who have, and if that happens, the haves and the have-nots will not be able to live harmoniously with each other.
There is a verse in the Bible like this. “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. And all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) In other words, if you do God’s work, God will add to you food, drink, clothing, and everything necessary in this world. In a way, this is also unearned income. However, the reality is that God's reward is given for spiritual labor, which is more valuable than physical and mental labor, not unearned income.
And although it is said in today's text, "I will swear by his name," Jesus said, "I tell you, do not swear at all." And in the Old Testament, “Hate your enemies. Destroy your enemies.” But when it comes to the New Testament, it says, “Love your enemies.” They are confused because of the duality of God. And while Jesus said that he would come soon, he also told us to wait a long time.
Moreover, they say that God loves the world, and later, God judges the world terribly. There is a risk of destroying faith in the duality of God as to which rhythm one should dance to. Of course, as the Korean proverb says, 'As a man who has all the power, God will do whatever he wants. How dare we put a question mark on God's sovereignty in our lives? But, at least, if the God I serve and the God I evangelize are dual personalities, wouldn't it be a problem?
Those who have been tested on the duality of God cannot lead a proper life of faith. Therefore, if you have any doubts about the duality of God while reading the Bible or living your religious life, it is recommended to consult the pastor immediately. And it is clear that God is not a dual God, but because He works best according to the times and circumstances, God is sometimes seen as a double God, a bad God, or a hypocritical God.
Therefore, when a question mark arises in the duality of God, be sure to believe that God is good and solve the problem of duality. Then, the duality will be revealed in the mysterious providence of God who loves us, and we will be amazed at the person and perfection of God. All fallen humans have a problem of duality, but God never has a problem of duality. God does not disappoint us with duality. Our God is an honest God. He is someone everyone can trust and someone everyone likes. God does not disappoint you. Therefore, I pray that you firmly believe in God and continue to love and love Him.
