Title: The end of life in ashes

Verse: Judges 9:46-57

a blazing fire? There are many kinds.

Matches also burn brightly. The firewood also burns brightly. Even the straw burns brightly.

Everything burns brightly

But the problem is time. It's about how long you can go.

So is life!

If you live according to your immediate interests, it will burn brightly, but your life will end in an instant.

Be a person of faith that burns with passion, with faith, love, devotion, and passion, like a firewood before God.

* God's plan for the unrighteous Abimelech

Judges 9:23-24

At first, Abimelech and the men of Shechem agreed and joined hands.

**So Abimelech became king, and the people of Shechem betrayed Abimelech by causing an evil god to separate them between Abimelech, who became king by injustice, and the men of Shechem who made him king.

Appearance of Gaal son of Ebed

1) A person who articulates a situation

2) The appearance of an evil spirit sent under God's plan

** This is a rebellion after 3 years.

** Why Abimelech had no choice but to be judged by God!

Had Abimelech acted with justice, his end would never have ended miserably. Since God is a God of judgment, his result was destruction.

** The reason for the destruction of Shechem? Because he was an ally for injustice.

This teaches us that those who are united by injustice can turn their backs on them whenever their interests are diminished or lost, and that their alliances are like castles built on the sand and can be broken at any time.

Abimelech killed the people of Shechem when they turned against him and rebelled against him.

First, we cannot overcome the pain of betrayal.

Gaal's butchery makes the situation difficult.

That's the point!

? Curser - someone who makes things difficult

? The person who makes the relationship worse - the person who makes the relationship difficult rather than justified.

I saw work! - That he went according to God's way.

Is this the way to go when relationships get difficult? Take a look first!

? Abimelech is a wounded man.

** That he is the son of a concubine.

What if the wound was healed in God's way? The results of life would also have been shown in a good way.

A person with deep wounds, Abimelech?

** A person who gives back the wounded person.

Healing in God

Tamar, who overcame his wounds, became wise because of his wisdom.

Ruth overcame her wounds and became this through obedience.

Now the situation turned out to be Gaal's death.

It will defeat the silence.

1) Abimelech made some mistakes as a leader, but now that is enough, a relationship of retribution has been made.

** So, what is a leader to do?

Presenting the future, presenting a vision, and moving forward.

2) But there is a problem.

** As they escaped, people went into the bastion.

Why did you enter the bastion? He didn't come in to fight, he came in to escape.

So what should Abimelech do? it's just mercy forgive me

3) Abimelech is the son of an unloved concubine. They don't know what mercy is, what love is for forgiveness.

** I have no experience.

What if the wounds are not healed? In any situation, start with “angry” and see.

4) The place where those who fled to escape is called the Fort.

** A bastion? The tower is 32m wide, 27m long, and 5.4m thick.

However, the Bible testifies that the fortress burned down and that about a thousand people died that day.

Obviously what we need to know here!

** What did Jotham say? Remember!

Yodam with blood bruises? He said that fire would come out of the thorns and that he would eventually die.

That word was fulfilled.

The fire killed all the people in the city of Shechem.

** Do not forget that if there is a wound in my heart, both jokes and compliments are seen as attacks.

This is God's way.

Don't live your life too much, but if you are refreshed in the comfort God gives you, you will live a wonderful life.

Keep the state of my heart in peace!

When anger reigns, we cannot hear God's voice, our joy disappears, and our lives become ashes because we do not pay attention to God.

Second, they die in vain.

1) When an animal dies, it leaves skin behind. When a person dies, their name is left behind.

** What is the world's most devoted beast?

That's 'cow'. work to the bone

And later, as beef head soup, crucible soup, and intestine soup, everything is given for the sake of humans.

2) Even cows do not live in vain.

** We live and die according to need and use.

Rage soars, and the straw fire is terrifying.

ex) Straw pork belly burns vigorously. it's instant

3) They chase after Thebes and try to rule the tower with fire.

** Became a war fanatic.

there is nothing to see Without seeing you, you die in vain.

ex) A woman accidentally threw a millstone.

What is a millstone? It's something you use in the kitchen. It's not a war weapon.

Because it was not a weapon, it also died in vain for a woman.

So, one has to have a good ending.

** Abimelech is a life that burned like a matchstick and then turned to ashes in an instant.

Don't forget that the price of sin is always rewarded.

As I follow the good things of God, I must become a person who prays for those who make it difficult for me and becomes like a firewood.

Who is Abimelech?

1) After taking power, he did not rule with justice, so he tried to rule those who rebelled against him with blood, and eventually he bled and died.

2) God is even saying that revenge is (Romans 12:19, 20).

** Even if Abimelech came to power by injustice?

If he had reigned righteously with a heart that repays evil with good (Romans 12:21), his end might not be like this.

3) God who takes revenge

When Abimelech died, the Israelites each went back to their homes.

** God will surely avenge the 70 innocent people of Jerubbaal.

(Genesis 12:3)

The great grace of God is with us believers. Whom shall we fear, and what shall we fear?
