Title: The Eternal Christ/Hebrews 9:1-28

Contents

The priesthood of Christ (Hebrews 9:11-22)

The office of Christ is threefold. That is, they are kings, priests, and prophets, and the text refers to the priesthood of Christ. The priesthood of Israel was originally according to the order of Aaron, but Christ was a special priest according to the order of Melchizedek, not according to the law, not according to the order of Aaron.

1. Christ is the high priest of the good things to come. Christ is not only the glorious hope to come, but also the High Priest of the good that has already come. A good thing is the state of the kingdom of heaven, where the Old and New Testaments are fulfilled. Christ did not use the earthly tabernacle that was merely a model, but the original heavenly tabernacle for His work. In Christ all things are made perfect. As He said in the Sermon on the Mount, through Him the law is made perfect (Matt. 5:17). He is the center of the city, and all Scripture testifies of Him (John 5:39).

2. Greece is the mediator of the new covenant. Mediator refers to a person who stands between the two sides and arranges work, and Christ is the mediator of the new covenant. Because of him, we enter into God's new covenant and receive the promise of an eternal inheritance. There is no way but Jesus. Nothing can participate in God's promises except through Jesus.

3. The blood of Christ purifies us. His priesthood is that of offering the blood of animals.

No, he offered up his body to make eternal atonement, offering himself once for all to make eternal atonement.

It was very special that Yirusa entered the sanctuary at once. His blood makes us unclean

I found purity in my conduct. Nothing else can cleanse our sins.

Eternal Christ (Hebrews 9:23-28)

Nothing is permanent in this world. The Bible teaches that the traces of this world are passing away (1 Corinthians 7:31). It teaches us that nothing we think is eternal is never eternal. The heavens are not eternal, neither the earth nor all things in it, and everything we can see must have an end. Nothing is eternal. Only God is eternal, and those who do His will dwell forever.

The text refers to the eternal Christ.

4. Christ enters the true heaven. The priests of Israel offered sacrifices in temples made with human hands, which were the shadows of the true, but Christ himself took the sacrifices and ascended into heaven to offer them to God. And his sacrifice was much more precious than that offered according to the law, for it was a perfect sacrifice of himself without blemish. His sacrifice did not need to be repeated, and was the one that was the end of the law. Now, what is required of us is not the sacrifice of blood, but faith in Him.

5. Christ is the standard of judgment. It is determined by God to die once, and then there will be judgment. Those who believe in Jesus will not be judged, but those who do not believe have already been judged (John 3:18).

6. Christ is coming again. The certainty of the Second Coming of Christ is fully proved by the fact that not only he himself said it, but the early church members waited for it and the apostles testified. We should prepare for that day, but prepare and wait like the five wise virgins.

7. Commitment and Prayer

1) Please strengthen the hope of faith 2) For the family and mission of the officers
