Title: The Evil Generation (Galatians 1:4-5)
Even though the places in our lives are different and the hardships that come upon us are different, in essence, it is a problem and a battle. One of them is the devil, the evil world the devil has corrupted, and the evil generation.
I do not know all of your circumstances and circumstances. You don't even know what's bothering you so much. What we struggle with may not be the hardships, but the indifference of our neighbors who can't even count our hardships. It may be the dryness of an era that cannot heal wounds. But one thing is clear. Even if our circumstances are different and our sufferings are different, the battle is one. Therefore, it is not about my environment or the circumstances of my life, but about this spiritual principle that the world itself is evil and started as an evil devil who is driving the whole world into evil and is cultivating it into thorns.
Time may pass, but the word of God does not change forever. Today's text speaks of the days of the church in Galatia as an evil day. However, today the Bible still declares that it is an evil day. It was so different then and now. Nevertheless, instead of explaining every detail of the trend and the rapidly changing spirit of the times, the Bible simply points out that today is an evil day. The essence of the age in which the Galatian church was faced 2,000 years ago is the same as the age in which our church is today. In other words, we must remember that evil people are living in evil days, then and now, and the evil power, the devil, lurks behind the evil world.
Now, if you want to pass this evil generation and gain the crown of victory, you must know the principle of the evil generation above all else. When the devil began to drive this world into a valley of suffering and sorrow both physically and physically as a breeding ground for evil, that is, 2,000 years ago, when Jesus came to this earth, the kingdom of heaven came together. The joy of tasting the blessings of heaven in advance began for sinners. You will have the blessing of tasting and governing eternal life that you cannot experience on this earth. Through Jesus, the sick tasted healing and rejoiced, and the miserable life of a demon-possessed life was set free at the command of Jesus and enjoyed a modest life. Even the dead came back to life and tasted the resurrection that praised God. These miracles are but a foretaste of the joys of heaven. No, from this point on, sinners have a taste of heaven.
It is said that the kingdom of God began to come to this earth from this time. And when he saw Jesus going to the cross to give this kind of heaven to all mankind, the person who was most embarrassed was the evil devil. From then on, the devil appears as a force that hinders the work of salvation by mobilizing all authority and possessions in earnest. The devil, who felt the so-called crisis, became more violent against God. With his weapons, the world's money, greed, power, disease, greed, and violence, he has made the world even more sinful, and he cunningly approaches and corrupts even the children who have been saved. This is what the Bible calls the Evil Day.
The church that was specifically pointed out as an evil day in the text is the Galatia church. We see the trend of mixing the message of the cross with the law to create a different gospel, defining it as an evil day. Why did the doctrine that we must believe in Jesus and obey the Law to be saved was exposed as a scheming of the evil devil? If you tell a person who believes in Jesus not to believe in Jesus, you will reflexively believe in Jesus more. However, if you tell a person who believes in Jesus to believe in Jesus and hold onto the law and receive the blessings of the world, isn't this a golden bonus? If you hold on to the law and become addicted to the law over the years, you will now cross the three-fold line of salvation by keeping the law.
How clever is this devil's trick? So it is an evil time.
Gal 3:10 "Cursed are all those who are of the works of the law, for it is written, Cursed is anyone who does not always do all the things that are written in the book of the law."
Galatians 3:13 ?쏞hrist hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.??
Today's age is a really evil generation. Because the Ten Commandments, the parent of the Law, became the center of all doctrine and faith. In the end, the church clings to the law, serves God legally, and seeks legal blessings. Because of the legal curse ritual, the church takes holy water every week, leads a habitual and formal religious life, and forcibly tithes because of blessings and curses. The depraved image of sympathizing with the evil generation became widespread.
If the church had given up the laws of blessings and curses and held only the love, sacrifice, and righteous cross that look to heaven, the church would have become the light and salt of the world and the lighthouse of heaven. Why, the devil is getting more and more evil and spreading the law of death disguised as the gospel in the world? It is because the devil knows that his judgment day is near, so he is desperately struggling to protect the kingdom of hell. Here, the people of the world live under the influence of the devil, and they combine to create an evil world.
This is the environment in which we live our life of faith today and the conditions in which we are engaged in spiritual warfare. Dear brothers and sisters, who carry the cross to heaven with faith! How will the world and religion treat you in the shoes of the gospel? do they help you? Will this generation help you? It's not like that.
1 John 5:19 "And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil one."
God is testing us to see if we are qualified citizens to enjoy the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, there is a wave of rebellion in this world that has turned its back on God. We need to be on the lookout for this one generation. Think about it, if our enemies are the rulers of this dark world, if we live in the dark sins of life, if we are chasing after the blessings of the law, if we are swallowing the bait of money from the devil, how can we fight them? Rather, in that darkness we will become prisoners of sin. If our bodies are sucked into this evil world, our souls will also become their playthings. So we must remember. Our spiritual warfare is not an event that takes place in a vacuum. In other words, it is not a battle in which we say Amen or Amen with our lips, but a battle that takes place in our lives.
If we forget heaven in our lives or pour out the blood of the cross, we are like deserters from the spiritual army. The devil will soon disarm us spiritually and turn us into his minions.
Dear all! The Bible says the days we live are evil days. This world where spiritual warfare is taking place is not our home ground. The world does not support us. In the midst of this evil world, we must only keep the anchor of the cross high and row the oar of the gospel to protect ourselves and offer our bodies and minds as living holy sacrifices for the Lord. On the day we are honorably discharged from our spiritual warfare with this evil generation, we will stand before God with the sound of the trumpets of angels and receive the crown of righteousness.
As we read today, the only way to overcome this evil age is to believe and follow Jesus Christ on the cross. The only refuge in evil days is the shadow of the cross. That is why Galatians 6:14 says, ?쏝ut I have nothing to boast about except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.??did it. Until that day comes, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you will become a victorious soldier of Christ in fighting sin against this evil trend, holding on to the cross to the end, and proclaiming the way of the cross until the moment when God extends life.
