God's face toward life has two faces.
One is the face of wrath and the other is the face of love and blessing.
The face of Jesus who came in the flesh also had two faces.
▶The face of terrible wrath toward the Pharisees and those who defile the temple
▶A kind face toward the Samaritan woman, the sick, and the oppressed
The face of God is a human expression of the image of God as a personification method, and it means God's interest in human beings.
The text refers to the priest's blessing as the meaning of God's blessing to Israel.
These are words of blessing to Aaron and the priests who will serve in his generation, so that the face of God the Creator will never depart from the people.
Who is the face of God facing in the text blessing?
He is the face of God toward me, and he keeps me (verse 24).
It means that the face of God is toward Israel.
God is always awake and guarding, protecting him like the pupil of the eye.
We are absolutely safe as long as the face of God is watching over me.
The face of God toward me is always gracious to me (verse 25).
The face of God shines with the face of glory.
When Moses saw the face of God, his face shone with brilliance, and he covered his face with a towel.
Your face is our saving power, and your face is our grace.
Just as it is good to see a person you love just by looking at their face, a person you respect religiously is a blessing just by looking at their face.
Just thinking about the face of God is a blessing to us.
The face of God toward me is the face of peace.
In fact, some people make people happy just by looking at their faces, and some people get annoyed just by hearing their names.
We are grace and peace while the face of God is upon us.
True peace cannot be given by the world, but by Jesus.
Those who have sinned have no peace.
