Title: The Faith of Young Joshua
The main character of today's text is actually Moses. This is the scene of Moses entering and leaving the congregation of God. Whenever this happens, the people look to Moses and long for grace.
Behind such a great leader, there is an unchanging helper of Moses who serves like a shadow. This is Joshua, a young man who served as Moses' attendant. He later becomes the successor of Moses, who leads Israel.
We would like to take a look at how young Joshua grew up as a lumberjack and became a good leader. Joshua's original name was Hosea.
He was the son of Nun of the tribe of Ephraim, and he was one of the twelve who went into the wilderness to spy out the land of Canaan.
Although it is a short verse in verse 11, we should learn from the young Joshua's unchanging loyalty.
Verse 11 - A man talks with his friend. Outside, the LORD speaks face to face with Moses, and Moses returns to the camp, but Joshua, the son of Nun, the young attendant, did not leave the tent of meeting.
◎ Young Joshua did not leave the tent of meeting.
To say that he did not leave the tabernacle means that he did not leave the temple. The tent of meeting is the place where the Israelites meet God. It is a place where God and his people meet through the leader Moses. The temple is the center of God's presence and worship. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus taught daily in the temple (Luke 19:47). The early church members always gathered in the temple to pray. Saints should live with the temple as the center of their lives.
Please use the temple as a school for learning the Word, a house of prayer, and a place of praise.
◎ Young Joshua never left his leader Moses.
After meeting Moses, Joshua never left him until Moses passed away. Joshua always followed the leader Moses like a shadow. He was also with Moses when he was serving God in the tent of meeting. Moses' brothers blamed Moses and his wife blamed Moses, but Joshua never turned his back on him or betrayed him.
*John 15:5 - I am the vine and you are the branches; if he abides in me, and I in him, a man bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
◎ Young Joshua did not depart from God's word, the law.
Joshua was commanded by God not to leave the Bible (Joshua 1:7-8). It is not to let the Bible leave your mouth. That is, to read the Bible.
The temple was a resting place for the Israelites. Jesus Christ is our Savior, whom God has sent to us. The Bible is God's greatest gift to mankind.
There is a way to success in the Word, and there are teachings and powers that make you capable and great. It is a useful book for correction and training in righteousness.
