Title: The Faithful Servant / Mark 10:35-45

Contents

Title / The Loyal Servant

Text / Mark 10:35-45

James and John were called and commissioned by the Lord, and sought to satisfy their needs by human means. When the Lord called James and John, he said, "Follow me. I will make you fishers of men." However, the disciples forsake the Lord's will and ask the Lord to take the right and left sides of Jesus. He also talked to his mother and caused a riot. But the Lord said that God's laws are different from the laws of the world. God's law is, "In order to live, you must die, and those who want to receive must give."

In the text, we are telling the disciples who want to share in the glory of God in a worldly way that they can participate in the glory of God by lowering themselves and becoming more humble.

Today, we must be the faithful servants that God wants, whom God judges and recognizes. I hope that you will become a servant who is accepted by God, not a servant who is accepted by men. This is because, in the end, the servants recognized by God are also recognized by people. Because Jesus also received God's approval, in the end, he was recognized by people and recognized as 'the Son of God truly'.

So what kind of servant is the faithful servant?

1. Appearance of a faithful servant

① a person who works hard

The reason God sent me to this world and saved me is that there are things that he wants to do even through me, who is weak and lacking. You must realize what God's plan is for you today.

It doesn't matter how big a task is entrusted to me. The criterion of loyalty and disloyalty is "Did you do your best in the task entrusted to you?" rather than the size of the task.

We must remember that Jesus Christ came to this world wearing the mission of the Messiah, and did his best in all adverse conditions and hardships to complete God's plan of salvation.

Therefore, we must be diligent servants who obey God's will. No excuse can excuse our laziness. Because the Bible considers laziness a sin, and the lazy person is an evil servant.

What is the mission entrusted to us today? Please be zealous.

② a person who perseveres

Paul counseled his spiritual son Timothy to be patient. As servants of Christ, we must always be patient. We must become saints who have patience and persevere in any situation or any problem that comes before us. Because it takes patience to get things done.

Today, faithful servants, I hope that you will become victorious saints by enduring any difficulties in order to fulfill the mission the Lord has given you.

It takes a lot of patience to accomplish the work of this world.

ex) to buy a house

to succeed

To get into college -

I hope you will be a patient servant to accomplish God's work.

③ obedient person

Abraham, a faithful servant of God, showed an obedient attitude of offering even his own son as a sacrifice according to God's command. Finally, God recognized Abraham as a faithful servant in obedience. And he was called the father of faith and was called the source of blessing.

A faithful servant is one who accepts and obeys his master's command even his own life depends on it. Absolute obedience to God's commands is a faithful servant. We need an attitude of praying and hoping that God's will will be done, not our own will. God's commands need no reason or excuse. There is only obedience.

④ He is a humble person.

Jesus' teaching to his disciples is to humble yourself. Because the lower you go, the higher God exalts you. But a lot of people want me to be high, I want to lead, and I want to stand out. I have to show up, I have to show up.

A servant whom God accepts is a servant whom God regards as faithful, a servant whom God desires is a humble servant. Such is the person who has mature faith. Jesus told us to love God and love our neighbors. It is possible when we humble ourselves before God and humble ourselves before our neighbors. Humility is the very life of Jesus.

2. What a Faithful Servant Should Do

① You must do lowly things.

A servant must do whatever his master tells him to do. There is a 3D phenomenon these days. (I don't do dirty, difficult, and dangerous work) - Dental Implants

Also, don't do things that don't make money.

The same is happening in churches these days.

Even in the church, the 3D phenomenon does not do things that are not condescending.

(Church cleaning, service, and difficult missions do not want to be taken. I do not want to be president.

All.)

A faithful servant must do whatever his master tells him to do.

It is not a loyal servant who chooses only what he wants.

You have to work hard and don't hesitate to do things that other people don't do, hard things, and difficult things.

do.

② We do more than our duty.

A faithful servant does more than just what his master tells him to do.

Before you do it, you do it yourself, find a job, and do it.

A person who only does a given job is an employee.

A person who works only for his wages is a contracted servant.

But the faithful servant does more than the work entrusted to him.

They feel joy and joy because they work hard, and they feel the joy of the Lord as their own joy and deeds.

I consider it a blessing.

3. The Reward of the Faithful Servant

① You will be exalted.

As God, Jesus left the throne of heavenly glory and came to this low and lowly earth. He suffered and became a ransom offering to save us from death because of our sins. He humbled himself to the place of sheep and goats.

But God lifted him on high and exalted him until he sat down at the right hand of God.

God exalts faithful servants, servants who serve.

A servant who exalts himself in order to be exalted by men will never be exalted by God.

But please believe that the Lord exalts the humble and humble servant.

How high and how high will we rise if we exalt ourselves? At best, Presidents, doctors, judges, believe that those whom the Lord exalts will never fall and will be exalted.

② You will sit at the right hand of God.

James and John demanded the Lord's left and right. But Jesus says that it is not a position that is given because it is demanded, but a position reserved for everyone to receive.(40)

He said that the left and right sides of the Lord are given to the servant who serves.

Paul was convinced that the crown of righteousness was prepared for me when I fought the good fight of faith and kept the faith.

Please believe that the right hand of God is reserved for those who have overcome the desire to dominate others and the vanity and pretense of wanting to look bigger than others.

Paul was a prisoner who had abandoned his position and was being chased, but God made him the best apostle.

Stephen took the place of a sinner who was stoned to death, but God showed him a heavenly throne.

God reserves the right hand of God to the humble servant of the humble.

Please occupy the right hand of God.

Be greedy for the right hand of God.

God loves me and you. You called. Today we all have a mission. I hope that you will become a noble and humble servant of the Lord who understands God's love and will for me and is faithful, so that he will be exalted by God and occupy the right hand of God.
