Title: The Family that God Promised Blessing
A family where God promised blessings
Text: Psalm 112:1-10
Every human being has a wish from the heart. Among the wishes, the greatest wish is that of a family in which descendants can enjoy happiness and a family overflowing with happiness. If so, what kind of family and to whom did the Bible promise blessings? Today's Psalm 112 is a word of hope that shows what kind of blessing God has promised to what kind of family.
1. What kind of family has God promised blessings?
It is a family that fears God and greatly rejoices in His commandments. 'Hallelujah, blessed is the man who fears the LORD, and takes great delight in his commandments' (verse 1). To fear the Lord means to rejoice in obeying his commandments, the words he has given. Commandments are all the teachings of the Bible that God has given us. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be perfected for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16). ,17). Those who truly believe in and respect God from the bottom of their hearts obey God's Word with joy. Faith and obedience are not two. Romans 16:26 also says that the gospel was given so that we might believe and obey. To believe means to obey, and to disobey means to disbelieve.
2. What blessings has God promised?
① We are blessed that our descendants will become strong on the earth.
'His descendants will be strong on the earth; blessed will be the descendants of the upright' (verse 2). When God gave the people of Israel 10 commandments, He promised: 'I show kindness to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments' (Exodus 20:6). The blessing of having strong descendants refers to the blessing that those descendants become a strong nation. It also implies that it is prosperous in numbers. Before handing down money, houses, or power to your children as an inheritance, I hope that you will pass on the faith to respect and love God and obey His Word.
② You are blessed with wealth and wealth.
'Wealth and riches are in the house; their righteousness endures forever' (verse 3). He promised that those who fear God and obey God's Word will be blessed with material wealth while living in this world. 'Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of your produce, and your storehouses will be full, and your presses will overflow with new wine' (Proverbs 3:9,10). 'The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord is riches and glory and life' (Proverbs 22:4). Wealth and riches are synonymous terms, emphasizing wealth for contentment and wealth for abundance. Those who fear God have wealth and wealth.
③ There is a blessing in which light arises in darkness.
'To the upright there arises light out of darkness; he is kind, merciful, and righteous' (verse 4). The blessing of rising light in darkness means that God protects and saves us even when all kinds of adversity and difficulties arise. Light is a symbol of blessing and joy. For believers who love and obey God even in the midst of hardships, it is a promise that the living God and God who is mighty will put all difficulties together and bring good results. The Holy Spirit helps those who fear God and obey His Word. God protects you like the pupil of the eye.
God has promised blessings to families who fear God and greatly delight in His commandments. What are the blessings that God has promised? Blessed is that their descendants will become strong on the earth. You are blessed with wealth and wealth. There is a blessing in which light arises in darkness. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may receive and enjoy these blessings in abundance and become saints who give to your neighbors.
