Genesis 22:5-14

5. Then Abraham said to his servant, "Stay here with the donkey, and I will go over there with the child to worship, and then I will return to you."

6. So Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and put it on his son Isaac, and he went with them two men with fire and a sword in his hand.

7. And Isaac spoke to his father Abraham, saying, "My father." He said, "Here I am, my son." Isaac said, "The fire and wood are there, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?

8. And Abraham said, "Son, God himself will provide for himself a lamb for a burnt offering." So the two went out together.

9. When he came to the place God had instructed him, Abraham built an altar there and spread the wood, and bound Isaac his son and laid it on the wood of the altar.

Subject: Jesus' view of the Father

Text: Genesis 22:5-14, John 14:1-11

Jesus spoke of your relationship with God as a father-son relationship. In John 14 alone, God is called “Father” 23 times. This is the teaching at the center of Darakbang strengthening (John 13:-17:). It also contains the last two of the seven declarations of the Gospel of John. Verse 6 “I am the way. It's true. It is life, and no one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Lesson 7: “I am the true vine. My father is the farmer” (John 15:1). When Jesus speaks of God as His Father, that Father also helps us understand our physical Father. Because you will find the most ideal father image. Of course, you will also find the prize of the most ideal son. God the Father, Jesus the Son, Abraham the Father, and Isaac the Son.

There is an expression that says ‘the father is the son’ among the sayings that have been passed down. The appearance of a son resembling his father, an expression that reminds him of his father when he sees him. The father mentioned here is the object of faith, hope, and love for his children. So the son is also completely obedient to his father. The image of Abraham and Isaac facing Mount Moriah reminds us of the Lord facing Calvary. The relationship between God and Abraham is also a model of this father-son relationship. These are models of a beautiful father-son relationship. The appearance of Abraham and his companions walking silently for three days (Gen. 22:4), the conversation where only the rich walked away from their servants (Gen. 22:7, 8), and the experience of the sacrifice of Mount Moriah and Jehovah-jireh (Gen. 22) :9-14) content. "My father!" "My son! The conversation between the rich and the rich according to ‘Here I am’ is heartbreaking.

How much influence do fathers have on their children? It is said to be almost absolute after God. In the words of the great writer Thomas Wolfe. “By delving deeply into human life, we can eventually learn that humans are searching for their father. We are secretly exploring the <image of my father passed down from me>, not just the memories of my father who gave me a body or my father when I was young. My father’s strength, wisdom, love, thought and faith are in fact the most important roots of my life.” It makes me wonder how the lives of children raised with respect from their fathers and those who are not. The Father is God's representative.

Who is the Heavenly Father Jesus spoke of? 1) He is the one who knows everything about children (Matthew 10:30). Someone you know for sure. 2) He is well aware of all the needs of his children (Matthew 6:8). Before you ask, you already know the needs of your children. 3) He is the father who provides the safety and happiness of children (John 14:1-11). He is the Father who prepares beautiful fruits in this life as well as in the next life (John 15:1-8, 16). Ultimately, the Father in Heaven whom Jesus spoke of is the one who became rich and became one body (John 14:10) and started the work (John 1:1-3) and is completing it (John 17:2-8; Ephesians 2). :10). Through the Bible, we also discover that it is impossible to imagine the life of the Son without the Father and the Father without the Son (Luke 15:11-32). Both fathers and children must embody God-likeness and Jesus-likeness. Let's use the Lunar New Year as an opportunity like this.
