Title: The fear of the Lord comes first
There is a report that about half of the people will move in this year because the Lunar New Year holiday will have several days off unlike other times. There are cases in which we Christians unintentionally neglect God and the church due to holidays or holidays, but we must always live with the belief that the fear of God should be our number one priority.
1. Serving God is Right 7~
“Seventh-The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” The word “reverence” in Han Chinese is “with fear and trembling”, which is different from the way a slave treats his master or an idolater treats his idol with fear and fear. This is the faith of the saints in the Old Testament times in the Lord, and it is a reverence that combines love and fear. Paul said, “Phil 2:12, “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling, always in obedience.” Because this man knows the relationship between God and man and serves God’s will (Matthew 7:21), the purpose is good and the results are good. You have experiential knowledge. Otherwise, the world looks good and he lives the way he wants, so the fear of the Lord is put aside and he only enjoys the festivals, so he has no real knowledge.
“A fool despises wisdom and instruction.” Because this man only knows material things and knowledge of the world, he is blinded by spiritual wisdom, so he puts himself and the world before the fear of the Lord. A “foolish man” is said to be one who does not worship Jehovah, one who lacks wisdom, and a dark, stubborn fool. Those who do not believe in God are fools (Luke 12:20-21), and those who are slow to believe the Bible are also fools (Luke 24:25), and they enjoy the world over the fear of the Lord because they despise God's wisdom and instruction.
2. Respect your parents 8~
3. There are rewarding results 9~
“This is a beautiful crown on your head, and a golden chain around your neck.” Christians must obey the truth (2 Corinthians 13:8), and if they practice the truth, they will receive blessings (3 John 1:2~4). If you do, you will be judged (2 Thessalonians 2:12). “Beautiful crown” in the text means glory and honor (Ezekiel 16:12, Heb 2:7,9), and “golden chains around the neck” mean reward and honor (Genesis 39:8-10, 41:39- 43, Dan. 5:7, 29). The souls of those who keep the word of God by faith first prosper (John 14:21, 23, Acts 20:32, 1 Peter 1:8-9, 22:23), and it also prospers in the world (Deuteronomy 28:1~ ), both spirit and body prosper (3 John 1:2). God is alive. For this reason, God blesses him when he is revered according to his words and serves as a right person, and when honoring his parents is fulfilled according to the Bible. If you prioritize honoring your parents during the holidays, God will leave you.
[Conclusion] “Verse 10, do not follow the evil one who deceives you.” This is a person who has become accustomed to crime. If we serve God and honor our parents right during the long holiday break, it will be a life of grace.
