Title: The First Purpose of Life

Contents

Serving God with Worship

Romans 12:1~2 08/8/06 (Halel,

Last week, I said that the purpose of our lives is to please God the Creator who made us. It is to praise and glorify God to please God. Then everyone! What will God be most pleased with? There are days you've been thinking about it.

God is most pleased when our lives are used for the purpose for which He made them.

Among them, today I would like to take a look at the first goal, worship to serve God. Worship is the first purpose of our lives, and it is the expression of our faith that God is most pleased with.

1. What is worship that pleases God?

Did you watch the worship service? Did you worship?

There are many people who come to church to worship, just like going to the theater and watching a movie.

Look at verse 1 of the text.

“Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

In this text, God has a heartfelt recommendation for us. it is God

It is to offer a joyful living sacrifice, a living worship.

Worship is “worship” in English, and it means to give a value that is worth a ship.-So, the essence of worship is to offer the most precious and valuable thing.

It means that God is pleased with the worship service that is the most precious to God.

God does not accept all worship. The text says that God is pleased with living sacrifices. Sacrifice is living worship, which means living worship.

Conversely, there is also dead worship.

Dead worship is worship that God does not accept.

Even today, in many churches, many people are worshiping.

By the way, it would be good if all of these worship services are living worship and worship God pleasing, but there are also dead worship services that are not.

A good example is the sacrifice of Cain and Abel. They worshiped together in one place. However, God did not receive Cain's worship, only Abel's.

However, because Cain had one wrong worship service, he became angry and became a murderer who stoned Abel, and he became a person who was abandoned forever.

Worship is so important.

Through one worship service, it is decided whether you die, live, receive blessings, or be angry.

Until now, many people thought that since the Sunday had come, they worshiped by coming to church, praising, praying, listening to the Word, and giving offerings.

Of course, that is an element of worship. However, the question is whether there is a “giving” that is truly pleasing to God in the worship service. Wasn't it a worship service for self-satisfaction rather than a dream?

The fact that God did not receive Cain's worship, we can see from the text that he did not offer the holy living sacrifice that was pleasing to God.

Now, like Abel, we pray that God will please God by offering the most precious and precious thing, living worship.

2. How should we offer worship that pleases God? is to do

Everyone! What and how will God please us?

The text says, “Present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.”

If you see it here, you are told to “give your body”. This is the living sacrifice that pleases God.

But Cain said that during the worship service, he offered a portion of his produce without any preparation or devotion. But the worship God wants is not like that.

Abel gave in and.

It is also called sheep. The first baby is very precious.

And you said you gave oil, but to give oil, you have to die, and when you die, you have to bleed. It was completely killed. This is mountain worship.

Originally, I, as a sinner, had to die, but the sheep died in my place and saved me, a sinner. Therefore, each time we worship, we must die.

When we worshiped everyone, we tried to worship with the heart of dying for our sins. In today's New Testament era, no sheep or animals are slaughtered because of me, but Jesus, the sheep of our eternal redemption, died in my place.

Through worship, I am grateful for the grace of Jesus, who died on my behalf, and God accepts and delights in the worship that I offer myself with all my heart, soul, and mind with the heart of death. I believe that God will be pleased with the worship with sacrifice in which we offer ourselves, the most precious thing, among our weekly worship services.

And the living worship that “present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God,” is what it means to offer worship with the whole body.

Just because the body only comes to the chapel does not mean that worship is not possible.

The posture of worship is to give not only the whole body, but also all of my spirit, mind, soul, and soul.

It refers to worship in life, not just worship in the chapel.

Therefore, worship that pleases God is to offer our bodies as holy living sacrifices. When preparing meals at home, I take a worshipful attitude, and when I work at work, I work with the spirit of worship. Even when shopping at the market, you are shopping with the spirit of worship. This means that worship is not just in the chapel.

Pastor Rick Warren also said in his book “Purpose-Driven Life,” “worship is not a part of life, it is everything. said

It is misunderstood that I lived my life as I wanted without worship for the whole week, and then attended and worshiped for one hour a week.

But God commands us to worship with our holy lives.

Just like Abel offering his firstborn, we must offer a life of distinction, that is, a body full of blood and sacrifice.

I pray that you will become a successful worshiper by being filled with the Holy Spirit and worshiping in spirit and truth. A failure in worship is a failure in life. I pray that you do not become spectators of worship anymore, that you will meet the living God through worship, that your life will be enriched, and that your faith will be fuller.

Lastly, what is your attitude to worship?

In verse 2 of the text, it says, “Do not be conformed to this generation, but change.”

It is saying not to follow the trends and fashions of the world. And it means renewing your mind and discerning what is truly the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. This means that only true worship is pleasing to God, and He sees it as good and perfect.

As I said, worship is the life of the saints. One wrong way to worship can lead to a crisis in your life. However, if you have a good worship service, your life will change.

Then, how can we prepare and offer worship to please God?

First, please do not miss the Sunday worship service.

This is not my day, it is the fourth commandment, and it is the day that God promised to keep it completely as the day of the Lord and to bless it. And the person in charge of the order or the choir member will have to come and prepare in advance. It will be much more gracious if you come at least 10 minutes before Saturday, prepare your heart, glorify yourself with prayer and praise, search the Bible text in advance, and expect something from me.

Second, when you praise, please sing as much as you like.

Praise is praying and worshiping God. Praise itself is worship. It is better to sing with your whole body and raise your hands, rather than just imitating the praise everyone knows. My spirit, I pray that you give to God with a moving praise and prayer that comes from the depths of the heart.

Third, you will have to prepare your offerings in advance.

In 2 Corinthians 9, we are told to prepare an annual report in advance.

My maternal uncle runs a business, and from the income that comes in that day, clean money is set aside as a tithe. I think it is the center of his heart to give good things. The Lord does not say that the amount of the offering is large or small, but you should give it your best.

Fourth, the attitude to listen to God's Word is important.

First of all, 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, “Amen, to the glory of God.”

While listening to the Word of God, if it is truly true, it is the word to say “Amen”. Amen means yes yes. It's real. and agree to it.

Amen, it is not listening to the word with your ears, but eating the word with your mouth.

There will be wonderful blessings when you say “Amen”.

Lastly, I hope that the time of worship and return will be filled with joy.

Even if you come with a stuffy heart when you come, when you go, you want to receive blessings and return with the thrill and joy of meeting God, comfort and forgiveness.

If you worship God like this, God will be truly pleased.

I'll say it again. Worship is giving and worshiping God the most precious thing.

Therefore, God is most pleased with worship.

And they are looking for worshipers.

Worship is the most important thing in life like this.

No, it is not an exaggeration to say that the whole of life is worship.

Therefore, those who succeed in worship can become successful in life.

From now on, I pray that you will become successful in worship and experience God.
