Title: The Glory of the Church
Contents The glory of the church (Haggai 2:6-9)
Let's share what God is glorifying through our church.
1. God is the ruler of history (verse 6).
(1) Historically, Israel was liberated from the Babylonian captivity. Israel passed the Babylonian captivity and began to build the temple in the liberation period.
(2) God is the creator of heaven and earth. God is the One who always shakes the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land for the sake of his chosen people (verse 6).
2. God is the purpose of mankind's salvation history (verse 7).
(1) Why does God shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land? Why does God shake all nations? It was to bring the treasures of all nations and fill the shabby-looking temple that the Israelites are now building with glory.
(2) Who is the owner of silver and gold? (Verse 8) He is the God who created the heavens and the earth.
⑶ Now the world is vibrating. The global financial crisis has plunged the world into an economic crisis. God assures us that all nations will come for our church. Because here is Christ, the 'treasure of all nations'. Be the light of the Gentiles. He promises that Jesus Christ, who will be the Savior of all nations, will fill the whole world with glory through our church (Isaiah 60:1-3).
3. The glory of the church (v. 9).
(1) The value of the church's existence is to show the glory of God.
(2) God made the temple a source of peace.
⑶ God reveals his glory through our worship. He reveals Himself (verses 25, 26).
4. The vision of the church
(1) The core of our church's vision lies in the church that influences the people and the world with the gospel. The basic tools of ministry needed to fulfill the five missions of the church are prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:42-43).
(2) It is the vision of the church to make disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20).
⑶ It is a vision to glorify God through good deeds (Matthew 5:16). We want to achieve this through the welfare center.
5. God wants to be glorified through the church.
For the purpose of God's salvation of mankind, God blesses the church. When our church makes disciples of Jesus, heals the nation, and undertakes world missions, God blesses us. Moreover, God wants to bless the church, the Ark of Salvation, even by shaking the whole country in this difficult time. Bless the church that embraces the nations and prays. He blesses those who love souls and who work hard to save them. At that time, Christ, our eternal treasure, will come to the church and the saints with the kingship. In that presence, God will reveal His glory. Let us devote ourselves to the vision of the church. Let's confess our faith by giving.
