Title: The God We Forgot
Bible: Psalm 50:22-23
Starting Point of the Word>>
Today, I would like to share a sermon with the title of “The God We Forgotten”.
If we look at the words of verse 22,
“Consider this now, you who have forgotten God, or I will tear you to pieces, and there will be no one to rescue you.”
He says.
Forgetting God in this verse means forgetting to thank God.
When God leads us to good things and good paths, it means that we who confessed, 'I will always live a life of thanks to God', have forgotten to thank God as our lives have become more comfortable and relaxed.
If you look at the Bible, you can see that Jesus always remembered his thanks to God.
If we look at Jesus' confession of thanks,
First, when performing the miracle of 'Obyeongyi', I took the five barley ducks and two fish that a young child had given me and offered a prayer of thanks.
This prayer of thanks made everyone who was with us full and experienced the miracle of leaving 12 baskets.
What this means is that by praying in the midst of need, a miracle happened in that place.
People are not thankful because they are happy and prosperous, but when they live in gratitude, they experience God's grace.
The second thanksgiving of Jesus was a prayer of thanks in a situation of failure.
According to Matthew 11:23,
“Capernaum, if all the mighty works that were done in you had been done in Sodom, the city would still exist to this day.”
You said.
Jesus went to Capernaum to evangelize with all his heart.
But the villagers did not want to hear the words of the gospel of Jesus.
At this time, it must have been a time of exhaustion, trials, and troubles as Jesus was carrying out his ministry.
But at this time, Jesus offered a prayer of thanks to God.
According to Matthew 11:25-26,
“Then Jesus answered and said, “Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I thank you for hiding these things from the wise and prudent and revealing them to little children.
Third, in front of the tomb of Lazarus, who died, he offered a prayer of thanks.
Jesus, who visited the tomb of Lazarus four days after he died, shows the great attitude of faith.
According to John 11:41,
“Father, I thank you for hearing me.”
I make a confession.
Rather than going to the sad portrait book and asking or confirming the content of the sadness, he said a prayer of thanks to God.
Finally, in the scene of the Last Supper, he predicted his own death and offered a prayer of thanks.
The words of the Bible, “He also took bread and gave thanks” (Luke 22:17-19) means a prayer of thanksgiving.
In this way, we must remember that Jesus always remembered God in any condition or circumstance, and he always offered a prayer of thanks in it.
Go to Word>>
If you look at the words of today's text, you can find two kinds of people.
The first is the appearance of people who have forgotten God.
If we look at the words of verse 22,
“Think of this now, you who have forgotten God.”
I did.
How many things have people forgotten or lost?
But in reality, the most precious part of forgetting God is living.
This is because there are other objects of concern, values, standards, and trusts other than God.
But we must remember that when we forget God, it causes dark problems in our lives.
① When we forget God, we see a phenomenon of spiritual exhaustion.
Being spiritually exhausted is like losing the life of God's grace.
We are saints who live by the spiritual grace that God provides every day, but our relationship with God is cut off and destroyed.
② You will live a life without gratitude.
If we forget God, we will forget the life of gratitude.
Lack of gratitude means that there is no joy, and lack of joy means that one's spirit, soul, and body live apart from God's will, leading to exhaustion, collapse, and giving up on life.
③ It is said that if we forget God, everything will be broken.
If we ponder the second half of verse 22 in depth,
“I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to rescue you.”
said
A life that forgets God faces a phenomenon in which both the personality and the soul are broken.
Continuous phenomena of confusion and division occur not only in life, but also in mind and soul.
A person who can be seen through the words of today's text,
Second, there were those who offered sacrifices as thanks.
If we look at verse 23,
“He who offers sacrifices of thanksgiving glorifies me; to him who does his deeds right, I will show the salvation of God.”
He says.
Those who offer sacrifices to God receive two types of grace.
① We become saints who glorify God.
To glorify God means to live a life centered on God, pleasing to God, and obedient to God.
There are many Christians, but only God knows how many saints glorify God.
Even if we do the same devotion and service, there are believers who are pleasing to God, obeying God and giving thanks, centered on God, while there are believers who always work with resentment and complaints.
You will know better what kind of saints God considers more precious.
② Those who offer sacrifices to God will act rightly.
It is saying that God recognizes the actions of the worshiping members as right and wants the wrong life to be changed into a right one by offering sacrifices.
The characteristic of the life of those who love God is worship.
We must become saints who make a beautiful relationship with God through worship.
Also, our life itself should become a living worship that pleases God.
God is not waiting for worship that conforms to a formality and frame, but is looking forward to worship in spirit and truth by giving us what we are.
In the name of the Lord, I ask in the name of the Lord that we who worship together today, we who listen to the word together, and us who pray together, give God the amazing grace that our actions are recognized as right as we worship Him in spirit and in the way.
At the end of the speech>>
Organize your words.
Have you ever been living a life that has forgotten God?
We must realize that the reason we are unable to live a happy life and not overflowing with joy and gratitude is because we have forgotten God who must be in us.
The text tells us that we are people who remember God and offer sacrifices of thanks as a way to live a life full of joy, gratitude and happiness through our lives.
It also says that they will live by seeing the salvation of God.
At this time, I pray in the name of the Lord that you and all of our members will remember God by witnessing the event of God's salvation and that you will live a blessed life that pleases God with a life of thanksgiving every day.
