Title [2010] The God Who Manages Salvation
Contents
(John 5:39)
There is nothing more urgent and important in life than the matter of salvation. This is because even if a person is born into the world and has a good character, is healthy, has a career, succeeds, becomes rich, and lives happily, if he does not receive salvation, his life becomes meaningless and meaningless. The most precious thing in life is to believe in Jesus and be saved. The most precious thing for saved saints is to live for the glory (joy) of God.
In today's text John 5:39, Jesus said: “You study the Bible, thinking that you have eternal life (salvation) from the Bible, but this Bible is the testimony of me (Jesus).” The Bible begins with the account of the creation of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1-2) and begins with the new heaven. and a new earth (Revelation 21-22). However, the Bible is not simply a story of creation or genealogy. It is not simply the history of the nation of Israel, which tells the story of the patriarchs or the stories of Sana or kings. From the great event of God's creation of the heavens and the earth as the starting point, the Bible is recorded with the major theme of "God's history of redemption" until the completion of the new heaven and new earth. Therefore, when reading the Bible, you must read it within the subject of “salvation”. The protagonist of the Bible is Jesus. John 3:30 “He (Jesus) must increase, and I must decrease.”
In the history of redemption, redemption has the same meaning as ‘liberation’, and refers to “salvation” that is set free from the chain of sin (bondage, bondage) at a price. Therefore, restraint presupposes that some price must be paid. There is only one person in heaven who paid the price for death (Romans 6:23), which is the result of sin, and accomplished redemption (Matthew 20:28, 1 Timothy 2:6, Romans 3:24, Ephesians 1:7). , 1 Peter 1:18-19). The gospel is that He paid the price of Jesus' life in order to satisfy the requirements of the law by sending an innocent person to this earth in a sinful form (Romans 8:3-4). The history of redemption (management of salvation) refers to the entire history of saving sinners centered on the sacrifice and death of Jesus Christ. God is managing this.
The history of the world we live in since the creation of the world seems to just flow, but it is in the management to achieve God's salvation. It may seem like an ordinary event that we go to church and believe in Jesus, but it is a great event. It is a bigger event than the creation of heaven and earth. We hope that our eyes will be opened to the great God who manages salvation and that we will be able to renew our position and mission.
The history of redemption that God the Father planned after the fall of Adam, accomplished by Jesus the Son, and confirmed by the Holy Spirit is a matter of salvation managed by the Triune God. For God, the work of creating heaven and earth and controlling human life, death, and happiness is nothing compared to managing the matter of salvation. The greatest work of God, the busiest work, and the most important work for God is to manage salvation. Philippians 2:6-8 “For he, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God to be robbery, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human form, and being found in human form, humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death. that he died on the cross.” This is a difficult task that gives life. However, this management of salvation that must be done is done in God's decree and predestination.
God's decree refers to 'his will that God planned in advance before eternity and before the foundation of the world' (Ephesians 1:4-5; 3:11). The problem of our salvation was planned by God even before we were born (Matthew 25:34, Tim 1:2, 2 Tim 1:9). Jesus is at the center of the decree and predestination of God who manages salvation. He prophesied the coming of Jesus (Messiah) through the prophets, and when the time was fulfilled, God sent Jesus Christ into this world as He promised, and it was fulfilled through Jesus Christ. The completion of the management of salvation is possible only through Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). So Jesus is great. That name is great. That deed is great. His words are great.
The God who manages salvation wants even one soul to enter the class of salvation. So, he sent the Holy Spirit to believers in the name of Jesus to become another Counselor, and he confirms that they are being saved in the saints and expands the realm of salvation through them. God, who manages salvation, endures and waits patiently to the end for the salvation of souls. God has never stopped or given up on the plan of salvation for fallen mankind. It can be seen from the fact that even though people distanced themselves from God and fell and sin is tolerant, He left a holy seed in the midst of them (2 Peter 2:5) and preserved the last stump (Isaiah 6:13). Even when Adam sinned, God made a garment of skin for him. This was a foreshadowing of the future salvation of sinners by Jesus Christ Himself shed as a Lamb on the cross (Genesis 3:21). It is a word that shows that man's salvation is entirely in the hands of God.
The management of salvation is God's management of salvation to save me, you, us, mankind, and everyone else, and for us, it is God's management of the greatest blessing. I bless you all who are standing on this path of salvation management.
